Ispca Shelter Started Its Operation In This Curren..
19th Dec 2018, by SPCA Ipoh

ISPCA Shelter started its operation in this current location since 1996. Shelter during that time housed both dogs and cats. In 2012, the cattery temporarily handed to another animal organization that focuses on cats to share this burden. It was since then, the group refuses to return the cattery to ISPCA, they even apply from land and mines department to have the cattery's land. In July 2018, their application got approval and they now owned the land including the building. Even though the lan...

19th Dec 2018, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)

START WITH 1 THING "It’s difficult to estimate precisely how many species we’re going to lose, in 100 years or so, we could lose up to 50% of all the species on earth." Dr. Michael Novacek, Curator, American Museum of Natural History. This is a threat all too real to Peanut, a red-footed tortoise rescued from illegal pet trade, and his kind. He currently resides with his enclosure-mate Walnut, another victim of the illicit trade. Don't be a witness to the destruction. Be the solution. Ou...

Vincent’s Trip To The Park
19th Dec 2018, by AnimalCare

Vincent had another small meal at 7.45am – Cubgrub Duck. And Primal Chicken Salmon. Primal is a freeze-dried raw food. It’s very convenient because you just have to add water to rehydrate it. Primal is also made from organic meats. Mr Zurik was here again and Vincent wanted to go out. This is called “courtesy-eating” to entertain a friend, typical Malaysian style. Heidi wants to come out too, but she will get her taiji-trips later. Vincent wanted so much to go to th...

What A “bloody” Morning!
19th Dec 2018, by AnimalCare

Good morning and no, no, I’m not shouting expletives. It was really a rather bloody morning. Our day started at 4am with preparation for breakfast. I would have preferred to push breakfast to about 6am, but the cue for everyone is when I come down the stairs – that signals their stomachs to produce the digestive juices for breakfast. And even Vincent came to the kitchen to wait, so how can you say “no” to him, right? I had wanted to give him his antacid first, but he see...

18th Dec 2018, by SPCA Selangor

This Christmas As we celebrate this jolly festive season, let us not forget the unfortunate ones like so many of our abused and abandoned dogs and cats in SPCA. It is sad to see people abandoning their dogs or cats due to old age, sickness or for various reasons. Here in SPCA, we try to heal their traumas by giving them love and care and to rehabilitate them with the hope that they can be rehomed. Unfortunately, some of these dogs and cats have difficulty in finding homes. Your generous gift ...

A Day Of Change (Vincent’s Stories)
18th Dec 2018, by AnimalCare

Vincent seems to be tired of his old locations today. This is an interesting location – you get some morning sun. We had to wash this ottoman cushion because Ginger sprayed massively onto it. Now that it is nice and clean, Tabs has taken it as her new downstairs bed. Vincent slept during subcut. And decided he would remain the room after that. Tabs waited outside. Vincent did not come downstairs for dinner. I found him still upstairs. So I carried him downstairs to the kitchen. But h...

18th Dec 2018, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)

A LOT CAN HAPPEN IN TWO DAYS It’s just the tip of the iceberg- if you think about the other 363 days in a year. We’re talking about another exotic illegal pet found. Two days ago, we found a #marmoset wandering about and earlier this month, a ‪#‎hedgehog‬. Alas, we were too late this time. After dawn this morning, a star tortoise was found in a pond at @Bishan Park. Concerned, a member of public contacted our wildlife rescue team but Petal was already dead on arrival. We don’t wan...

18th Dec 2018, by Dr Rayya's Online Veterinary Journal

'Puss' was super well behaved and compliant for her check up today which is 'uncharacteristic'. She obviously prefers our branch clinic which is less busy in the waiting room. She required the cone of shame to prevent her licking topical medication and I was immediately put in her bad books again. Sigh 😬😬😬 #geriatricfeline #vetcheck #felinehyperthyroidism
