Last Tuesday, TCS held Turtle Awareness Camp with SK Pasir Gajah which involved 40 students and 3 teachers.
We talked about the 4 turtle species that can be found in Malaysia and how they are now listed among the world’s most endangered species. We exposed the students the importance of protecting and conserving turtles from extinction such as reducing the amount plastic used and not buying any products made of turtles’ body parts.

It’s been almost a week since Zurik was discovered to have fever, jaundice and pockets of fluids in his left lung cavity and abdominal cavity (which has caused a noticeable bulge).
These came unexpectedly and it took me some time to take it all in. I had thought that Zurik’s condition had stabilised but I did notice the sudden bulge in the abdomen last Monday itself, 6 days before his check-up. We are very big on education. That's why this year, we're organising 12 awareness programmes with secondary school students in Terengganu.

Today, 3rd July 2019, we conducted an awareness program with over 760 students of SMK Batu Rakit.
We talked and shared with the students about conserving terrapins and also our conservation work at Kg. Pasir Gajah, Kemaman . We also introduced Eco-bricks as a way to up cycle plastic waste. Students also had the opportunity to listen to marine turtle awareness talk by the representative of WWF from Setiu, Noor Azariyah Mohtar.
