Wild, Wild Highlands In The Heart Of Borneo 14th Aug 2017, by WWF Malaysia
This is a scribbling of an adventure of a life-time. The Heart of Borneo Highlands Eco Challenge (HoBHEC), organized by Forum Masyarakat Adat Dataran Tinggi Borneo (FORMADAT) and supported by WWF-Malaysia, was an ecotourism adventure with a difference. The second edition of the Highlands Eco-Challenge held on 20-29 July 2017 gave participants the chance to experience how uniquely rustic and pristine are the highlands in Borneo.
Eco challengers had the chance to walk the same pathways as the anc...

Some dog owners treat their dogs like their babies. This might seem ridiculous to some, a study in Science proven that the bond between dogs and their owners can be as emotionally strong as the connection between mothers and their children.
Researchers found that ‘the eye connection’ between dogs and humans increases the levels of oxytocin in people. Oxytocin (cuddle chemical) is a hormone mammals produce in the brain that encourages bonding between mothers and their offspring. It’s also...

We receive many requests for help from members of the public daily. We realize that many cannot afford to pay to vaccinate/ neuter their rescued animals, so last year we started a fund to cover these expenses and relieve their financial burden a little. If you are in a position to help, we would really appreciate it if you could sponsor a vax & spay for animals in need!
• Vaccination for one rescued animal (RM30)
• Vaccination & spaying - Female cat (RM120)
• Vaccination & spaying - Femal...

Hamster Care. Did You Know That Hamsters Are Proli.. 14th Aug 2017, by SPCA Singapore
HAMSTER CARE
Did you know that hamsters are prolific breeders?
Hamsters can start reproducing when they are just six weeks old. They have a very short gestation period of just 16 to 23 days; and can produce up to seven babies at a time!
So, please do be a responsible pet owner and keep only one hamster in an enclosure. After all, hamsters are solitary animals.
To learn more about hamster care, click onto http://www.spca.org.sg/pdf/Pet%20Hamster%20Care_20 17.pdf

Daffodil Looks For A Way 13th Aug 2017, by AnimalCare
She’s still not happy with the new netting as it’s obviously thwarted her newly discovered attempt at escaping.
I observed her and she’s looking at all the sides (notice there’s a slight gap at both sides) as well as the top (which isn’t fastened securely – now, how would she know that?).
In any case, we are not leaving the wooden door open. This netting is just to prevent her from making a quick escape when we are going in and out of the front door (which w...

URGENT HELP NEEDED!
We have an elderly rescuer named Madam Ng from USJ who currently have trouble finding new adopters via PetFinder.my. Due to her age (She is 60++ year old) and medical condition (she is recovering from pneumonia and recently injured her eye so her vision is also affected), she is unable to care for them and SPCA would like to help ...
