A Short Story, From A Melaka Traffic Lights

I received a call this afternoon, from a young friend. He sounded a bit desperate. Apparently, he realised kittens had crawled into his car engine when he stopped at a traffic light.
The kittens must have been inside the car engine from the time he drove off from his house to the traffic lights.
He said the kittens dropped down onto the road when he stopped, but when he and his friend got out of the car, the kittens got frightened and crawled back into the car engine.

Naughty, Naughty Indy!

Indy has been getting trips out all this while and so far, he has been “good”.
Well, as good as it gets, that is. He would wander to the compound, but always stayed within the house compound and when you called him, he would quickly come back, roll on the floor, like any good boy would.

We realize that many cannot afford to pay to vaccinate/ neuter their rescued animals, so last year we started a fund to cover these expenses and relieve their financial burden a little. Cleo has been war-crying on a daily basis…up on the ledge.
G-Cuz has been coming over every day and intimidating/annoying her (or so we think).
For those new to G-Cuz, he is Mr G’s brother and lives at the back, diagonally, from our house.

It’s made from old curtain material from my mum and the cloth is actually water-resistant on the inside (I didn’t know this until now!).

Brown Songkety Foldable Bag

We thank Agnes’ friend for ordering this brown songkety bag.
These bags are made from the “sample pieces” of cloth that my mum bought sometime ago. Each piece is just enough to make one small bag, so that makes every bag totally unique!
I get a thrill out of being able to maximise the cloth so that wastage is reduced to a barest minimum. See the two squares cut out? I even unpick these and make use of them to extend the handles.
