Nomi’s Updates (late Night Of Day 9)

The caregivers bought the Metrogyl gel this evening and have applied it on Nomi’s wound.
Since the Metrogyl gel is colourless and the iodine is yellow, it is hard to tell if the thickish yellowish liquid in the photo is pus or just the gel mixed with the iodine. We have suggested that the caregiver take a photo tomorrow morning to be sent to the vet before applying any of the medication.

This Is An Asian Box Turtle That Is Found In Wetla..

This is an Asian Box Turtle that is found in wetlands and marsh areas. The yellow stripes along the head distinguish this turtle species from the other species.
Box turtles have the ability to enclose their whole body within its shell or carapace. Being an omnivorous species, this turtle consumes both green leaves, weeds, small insects and fishes.

Nomi’s Surgical Wound Is Infected (Day 9)

The caregivers, Nicholas and Aline, took Nomi back to see the vet today because her wound looked infected.
The vet has confirmed that the wound is indeed infected and there is a possibility that it may have to re-opened up for debriding and re-suture if it does not get well. Meanwhile, to control the infection, Nomi has been prescribed with another additional antibiotic, Clindamycin, to be given once a day on top of the Curam prescribed earlier, given twice a day. Miao’s Updates (Day 3 After Surgery)

The vet updated that Miao is doing well.
She is eating. Her breathing is very good too. An X-Ray was done and it is not bad with just a little inflammation, which is expected (Nomi had this too).
These are videos of Miao, sent by the caregivers when they sent Nomi back for a check-up today (updates later).

Day 3 was a bright day, as we started off with hatchery clean up.
We also checked on our traps that we placed a day before to see whether we had captured any turtles. It was indeed a lucky day; we caught some Box turtles and Black Marsh turtles.

Medical Aid For 1 Cat In Puchong (Soo Tzan Jian & Teng Yeeng Xuang’s) – Ah Miao (2nd Aid)

We have provided an aid of RM3524.00 for Ah Miao’s diaphragmatic hernia repair and hospitalisation.
Ah Miao was sent for neutering at another vet, but went into dyspnea when she was anaesthesised. The spaying was aborted immediately and she stopped breathing 3 times during recovery.
