Dogs in Hot Car
Every year, dogs suffer and die when their guardians make the mistake of leaving them in a parked car—even for “just a minute”—while they run an errand. Parked cars are deathtraps for dogs: On a 78-degree day, the temperature inside a parked car can soar to between 100 and 120 degrees in just minutes, and on a 90-degree day, the interior temperature can reach as high as 160 degrees in less than 10 minutes.
Animals can sustain brain damage or even die from heatstroke in...

Cats On Pulau Hantu (Part 2) | Hantu Blog 22nd Aug 2017, by SPCA Singapore
MISSION PAWSIBLE ON PULAU HANTU
Working together with Singapore Land Authority (SLA), Cat Welfare Society (CWS) and the Hantu Blog, we managed to trap four cats that were abandoned on Pulau Hantu and brought them back to mainland. We were first alerted to the situation by a member of the public who spotted some hungry cats on the island recently.
It is necessary for these cats to be removed from Pulau Hantu as they would not have survived on their own. The cats have been sterilised by CWS and ...

We receive many requests for help from members of the public daily. We realize that many cannot afford to pay to vaccinate/ neuter their rescued animals, so last year we started a fund to cover these expenses and relieve their financial burden a little. If you are in a position to help, we would really appreciate it if you could sponsor a vax & spay for animals in need!
• Vaccination for one rescued animal (RM30)
• Vaccination & spaying - Female cat (RM120)
• Vaccination & spaying - Femal...

Greening The Economy Through Gaharu 22nd Aug 2017, by WWF Malaysia
A green economy is about making an economy sustainable, profitable without compromising nature and the environment and at the same time, bringing benefits to people. Here at WWF, we are starting at the grassroots level. Recently we paid a visit to Rumah Manggat in Batang Ai together with the Forest Department Sarawak. The reason? To explore their interest in a gaharu tea project that’s forest-friendly, long-term and financially rewarding to the local community. Wish us luck!

Tiger’s Abscesses Day 2 21st Aug 2017, by AnimalCare
Thanks to a well-behaved Google Maps, we found out way to the vet’s and back home safely today!! For someone as severely directionally dyslexic as me, this is quite an achievement.
So, how are Tiger’s abscesses today?
Thankfully, according to the vet, it is showing signs of healing…quite well too.
I sent a photo to the vet this morning and he already said it looked better.
Upon a physical examination this afternoon, it certainly appears that the two wounds are healing n...
