Tiger’s (hidden) Abscesses 20th Aug 2017, by AnimalCare
Over the last 2-3 weeks, we’ve noticed Tiger hunching quite a bit, but thought nothing about it. His appetite had been good and he seemed happy enough.
“Leave well enough alone and don’t be paranoid” – I thought this would be a good motto to adopt. Trips to the vet are always very stressful for the animal.
This morning Tiger threw a fit and there were blood stains in the floor. Then I saw blood seeping out from a wound on his back. Just one wound.
It looked rather ...

Over weeks of close monitoring and working closely with the informants, ACRES ACIU (Animal Crime Investigation Unit) the traps were located and information was provided to the AVA. Joint efforts from Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) and ACRES resulted in the removal of the traps.

Happy #WorldOrangutanDay! Our orangutan conservation team uses three methods to count Bornean orangutan nests. The nests help us to estimate how many Bornean orangutans exist and where they are in the Central Forests of Sabah:
1. Ground survey - this is done on foot, is the most physically exhausting and takes the longest time to do.
2. Helicopter survey - this method involves flying over tree tops, according to grids. Highly expensive, can cover a large area in one go, and is the fastest met...

Adoption Spotlight - Micky 19th Aug 2017, by SPCA Singapore
ADOPTION SPOTLIGHT – MICKY
Meet Micky, a female, local cat of approximately eight years old. Micky was adopted in October 2015 but returned in May 2016. The owner cited that Micky was not getting along with another cat in the household and as such, he had to return Micky.
With much time, patience and TLC, we’ve been able to introduce Micky to the other cats in the cattery and she is fine with being in there with the rest of them.
Micky is a fun, sweet and gentle lady and she will make ...

The Beauty Of Rescued Animals 18th Aug 2017, by PetFinder.my
The Beauty of Rescued Animals
When animals are sold into the black market, they lose their freedom, and in many heartbreaking cases, their lives.
A sanctuary in Agua Dulce, California, has teamed up with a Los Angeles-based photographer to showcase the beauty and strength of the lucky animals they've managed to save from this heinous cycle of captivity, and the resulting photoshoot is positively 'wild.'
Where the Wild Things Are is a stunning collaboration between Animal Tracks and Natasha W...
