Noah's Ark Fund Raising Dinner: 3 July 2015 16th Mar 2015, by Noah's Ark CARES
To celebrate our 15th year in Pekan Nanas and 20 years in animal welfare we will be organzing a fund raising dinner on Friday, 3 July to enable Noah's Ark to continue at least another 20 years of its important and good work.
We would like to believe that our vision of a stray free Singapore and Malaysia will be closer to a reality then and our objectives finally reached. So if you too believe in this vision of a more humane society for animals and humans alike, consider support...

【北海-才能圆的大狼狗】
This is the German Shepherd that we rescued from the streets of Chai Leng Park few days ago.
As no one had came forward for her, we suspect she may be one of the victims of backyard breeders. It was pretty obvious she had given birth many times due to her sagging niples.
With great hope that she will be well loved and taken cared off during her golden years, we decided to put her up for adoption. Only serious adopter(s) who is willing to spay her will be cons...

EVER WONDERED ABOUT THE ORIGIN OF VOLUNTEERING?
The word “volunteer” originates from the old French word “voluntaire” (now volontaire). The volunteering service began in C.1600, when people offered themselves for military service.
The idea of volunteering grew significantly in the 19th Century, and continues to gather support worldwide. Volunteering is now recognised all over the world, and most countries include voluntary service in their education system as “service learning” or ...

Help Arrives for Injured Tortoises
_____________________________
Tortoises who come to the The Kerulos Center's 'Tortoise and the Hare Sanctuary' hail from a government facility created to recover the Mojave Desert Tortoise population. Tortoise numbers have plummeted by 90% in the last 30 years due to urbanization, increased human population and habitat damage.
Harmony Fund recently sent financial support to help in the care of these special sanctuary residents.
"Have just received word of y...

Rescued magpie becomes lifelong friend with family that saved its life. How sweet!
Birds are intelligent and affectionate, and that includes the cute chickens and ducks too. If we can give them a chance to be our lifelong friends, they'd certainly reciprocate with lots of love and joy!

GARNET IS ON THE MEND!
We just wanted to share with you one of the happy moments here at ACRES!
Do you remember Garnet, the tiny African spurred tortoise? He’s one of the animals you raised funds for so that he gets a new enclosure while he recovers.
This is a short video of him finally eating! He worried us when he stopped eating for a while (many rescued animals suffer from poor appetite as a result of their abandonment ordeal and ill-health), but thankfully he has started again! We do ...

Cow Opens His Eye…a Wee Bit 15th Mar 2015, by AnimalCare
Cow spent the whole of yesterday on his springy bed, clearly quite upset about having to wear the e-collar. With some difficulty, we managed to put his eyedrops as instructed by the vet – the eyedrops every 2 hours and the ointment at night, before we went to bed.
The main ingredient in Cow’s eyedrops and ointment is chloramphenicol. Caregivers must be aware of certain precautions when administering this medication: http://csu-cvmbs.colostate.edu/vth/Do cuments/pharmacy-chloramphen...

Helping Old Grandma To Spay Her Dogs 15th Mar 2015, by Second Chance
These 2 female dogs belong to an old Grandma in Hulu Langat. We helped to catch the dogs for spaying few days ago. It was hard trying to catch them as the fencing in the house has many "holes" and they could escape easily.
Luckily we managed to get them within half an hour. After the spaying, we will put them back to the house and grandma need not worry about any unwanted puppies anymore.
We would like to thank those who have contributed towards our neutering program, of which the primary ai...
