Bears released outside, in Lao PDR.
After a life time inside small, cramped and basic cells, the four male Asiatic black bears, also known as moon bears, were finally given their first taste of freedom.
Thanks to extremely generous donors from Singapore, work began on our outdoor bear enclosure back in March of this year.
After 3 months of hard work by our staff and international volunteers, the upgrade was finally completed, and the bears were released into the outdoors.

A young leopard was rescued from a dry well in India on Sunday. Surprised villagers peered into the well and couldn't believe their eyes as they watched the powerful animal struggling for her freedom. This dog with a huge wound infested with maggots was first sighted by a rescuer at Jalan S.P. Chelliah. As he was only in a motorbike then, thus unable to send him to the vet.
Rescuer went to search for him again the following day and the day after but unable to locate the injured dog.
Reluctant to give up, he went again today and searched through Jalan S.P. Chelliah and the neighboring streets. At last, the dog was once again spotted at Jalan Kuantan.

On 23 Aug 2014 (Saturday), students and staff of Nanyang Junior College held their “Wild Run” with SPCA, naming SPCA as its beneficiary of about S$2,500 raised from donations.
The Wild Run also saw our very own mixed-breed Ida (and our Executive Director Corinne’s Cocker Spaniel, Dewey) join in the festivities. A few other animals were brought along as well, to facilitate their interaction with the students.

This seriously injured dog was spotted at Jalan S.P Chelliah, Penang. Rescuer was without a car at that point of time thus unable to send him straight to the vet.
For 2 days, rescuer has been trying to trace this dog but failed. We are still not giving up on this dog, but if anyone spotted him on the streets, please help us send to the vet and we will take over from thereon.
