Duchess, our first dog, was always left alone when we were at work during the day. We felt that ...

Abandoned 4th Jan 2013, by SPCA Singapore
The man pictured abandoned this dog at Bartley MRT station after we requested he come back again the next day. On Sunday, 16 Dec, he came to the SPCA wanting to surrender this 1-year-old mongrel. He had raised the dog from a puppy but cited reasons such as moving house, no one wanting to take care of it and neighbours complaining, for not wanting the dog anymore. Our staff tried their best to persuade him to find the dog a home himself instead of surrendering it to SPCA. He then requested we put...

Ed Kostro of Illinois is today's hero in The Great Animal Rescue Chase. He writes:
Winter had arrived, the holidays were fast approaching, and I was sadly thinking about all of the relinquished and abandoned pets that do not have a loving home of their own. That’s when I got the following message:
“I’ve heard that you rescue dogs, and I’m wondering if you would help this one. There’s a little red dog on the loose that has been homeless for several months now, and I can’t c...

In Loving Memory Of Bobby! 3rd Jan 2013, by AnimalCare
My daughter found this story: http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/2013/01/0 2/13/39/guide-cat-gives-blind-dog-better-life
It certainly reminds us of how our cats looked after Bobby after he became blind.

Medical Subsidy For Kutam (RIP), Abandoned Cat (Yap Siew Hwa’s) 3rd Jan 2013, by AnimalCare
The vet called me regarding this case, sometime last month. Mrs Lim (Yap Siew Hwa) had picked up this badly injured cat, named Kutam, apparently, abandoned by her own owner. Kutam had a very bad necrotic wound on the neck. Daily wound cleaning was done and Kutam was on IV as well. Despite all efforts made to save her life, Kutam succumbed to the injury after more than a week.
We have subsidised RM182 for Kutam’s treatment.
This photo was sent by the vet when Kutam was first admitted.

Adoption Spotlight 3rd Jan 2013, by SPCA Singapore
Meet Fuji! This unusual all-white Jack Russell Terrier may be a "senior" at 10 years of age, but he can still be quite a handful if you're not familiar with the needs of a Jack Russell. This little guy needs plenty of outdoor time and sports to keep him occupied and happy.
Check out our other pooches waiting for their forever homes here http://www.spca.org.sg/gallerydog1.html.
