Our Hero (Day 1 After The Surgery)

Our vet stayed back till very late last night after closing time to ensure Hero was fine before he went home. What was thought to be a simple surgery turned out to be not so simple after all because when opened up, it appeared that the hernia must have been there for quite sometime as some of the organs that have fallen out had attached themselves to the "wrong places" and these had to be "detached" and pushed back to the right places. Winnie Low texted me to say she had just found a litter of two kittens. I asked how big they are and if their eyes were already opened, and she said the eyes are opened but the two kittens are of different sizes....(isn't that strange?).Anyway, I gave her instructions on what to do:1. And A Hero Comes Along...

Today was Hero's scheduled surgery for the hernia and his neutering.These are the photos taken last week when Hero was first brought in by Azie. Hero came to Azie's house on his own and Azie noticed a big bulge (lump) on his underside.This bulge is actually due to a hernia where there is a tear inside, and the organs have "fallen" through, thus causing this bulge that hangs down when Hero stands up. Mrs Lim operates a launderette in USJ and she also looks after the neighbourhood cats and dogs. She sent one more female cat to be spayed under our sponsorship today.The female catMrs Lim also found a male cat who had been crouching at the alley for some time. Support From The Penang State Veterinary Department

The Penang Veterinary Department has agreed to give us their full support in our spaying program for the stray animals in Penang. MPSP has also came by our halfway home today to conduct an interview and has verbally given us their support. We thank both the departments for their co-operation and quick response. Our team got back home yesterday at 11.55pm, after the press conference and going to the police station in Damansara Damai to find out more updates from the police.The press conference was organised and headed by Kucing Terbiar & Anjing Jalanan, MDDB, Save a Stray, Animalcare. From one of our members : "There's a stray dog sitting along the highway from Damansara to Mont Kiara (nearby the exit to Hartamas) this morning at 9.30am.
