Last Minute Pup

The tiring but awesome 2nd day at Pet World Exhibition @ Midvalley ended with an added bonus. A very determined girl called us while we’re packing to leave and express her interest to adopt one of the pup she fell in love with earlier that day. She’s in PJ and she’s willing to drive all the way back to Midvalley to pick the lucky pup up. This afternoon, our vet called me. He was in the Kamunting area in Taiping and had found a mother-dog and her newborn puppies inside a drain. Tried as he did, the mother-dog was ferocious. We helped Steffie Chong neutered a street dog, Boy Boy, recently, whom they had adopted. Yesterday, Steffie sent an S.O.S. Apparently, she had found three puppies and they were bleeding. I texted her the vet's number (it was after 7pm and I only knew of one vet that had the emergency-call-up service). One of our volunteers guided Steffie and her mum to the vet's but they realised that the wounds were quite superficial and did not warrant emergency help. So...

I had wanted to start the Sunny Kittens on baby kibbles already, but after hearing all the horror stories resulting from the change of diet for very young kittens, I'm delaying it for a while...They are still on Pets Own Milk, but drinking like crazy....and producing nice golden-yellow poo. Amber was spayed yesterday (under our sponsorship) and seemed well today. For the first time EVER, she was asleep when I entered the room.I didn't want to wake her up, but too late....she knew, and she got up and wagged her tail happily. Amber's about the happiest dog I've ever met. Hi, Amber!!Amber will be given her last TVT jab on Monday after which she can be discharged.Amber is up for adoption.Please help her find a home.

I went to visit Lilac today...Lilac has undergone her second operation to split the muscle between her leg and thigh. This "adhesion" was causing her to be unable to use her leg (where the IM-pin insertion had been done).Lilac can now stand up already. While I was at the clinic today, Rani showed me three kittens....These kittens had been rescued recently (pretty much like Rex, Fox and Honeybear), and Rani was feeding them milk.Then, a nursing mother-cat came in and Rani decided to put them with the mother-cat so that they could get mother's milk.After one day, all three had diarrhoea.
