It's time to recognise that animals sense things that we cannot. Like, say, cancer, as Myrtle the horse did. Myrtle is another example of animals displaying uncanny abilities to sense things we cannot, and empathy, too. How about showing empathy for animals by eating fewer of them? A plant-based diet, according to many sources, will also decrease your chances of developing cancer, so visit http://KindMeal.my/ today and have a win-win, meat-free meal!

LIVING UNDER A PIECE OF WOOD - CAN WE BUILD HIM A HOUSE? Sometimes we have such special opportunities to turn the lives of animals right side up again. Today, we are hoping to help the beautiful dog named Coddy. He lives in Travnik, Bosnia and was very recently rescued by Anela Elkazevic who is also building a new dog sanctuary that we are helping to sponsor. Anela lives very humbly in a single-room house and her young son at home. She cares for so many street dogs each day, but Coddy was not ...

Our shelter is constantly in need of volunteers to help us. There are always plenty of work to do in the shelter, whether it's bathing the dogs, de-ticking dogs, painting the kennels/cages, or looking after the cats. We would like to thank all the volunteers who came to help us out last Sunday. They have managed to bath more than 30 over dogs. Great job! Now on, our shelter will be open from 1pm to 5pm, every Sunday. We would like to invite volunteers to come lend us their helping hands. If y...

11th May 2015, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)

SUZZIE – A YEAR AFTER RELEASE Many of you will remember the story of Suzzie, a young long-tailed macaque who suffered multiple fractures to her left arm and lost four of her fingers after getting caught in an illegal snare in Sembawang Park. Following two major surgical procedures and four months of intensive rehabilitation at the Animal Recover Veterinary Centre (ARVC), Suzzie was returned to her home back in the wild early last year and was re-united with her family. A year later, we have...

Our Cover Girls
11th May 2015, by AnimalCare

Here they are, gracing our new banner, Pole and Yoshee! Pole, is of course, our Pole, the super athletic 9-year old svelte supermodel without an ounce of fat in her body and Yoshee (remember her?) – she’s the pet-dog abandoned at the Al-Rajhi Bank. I rescued her and she was subsequently adopted by the vet assistant at the clinic. We thank Donovan for providing Yoshee’s high-resolution photo, I took Pole’s photo with my little camera (turned out quite well, wouldn’t...

Cow’s Birthday Gift Is…”a Line”
11th May 2015, by AnimalCare

A line? YES, a line!! Cow went for his check-up today and the vet was delighted!! The ulcer has miraculously shrunk until it’s only “a line” now!!  Of course I’m totally delightfully flabbergasted. The vet had already expected this since the last visit.  Apparently, he viewed the “infection” to be actually “good” because it meant that something was happening. Non-healing corneal ulcers are very common in cats, I read. This is where nothi...

The tigress has a gestation period of approximately 16 weeks, less than half than that of a human. Typically 2 to 4 cubs are born in a den prepared by the tigress for their arrival. They are blind at birth and depend on their mother to care for their every need. Make a symbolic adoption and receive a cute tiger soft to remind you of how you are helping us save the Malayan Tiger: http://bit.ly/1IC31el
