Remember the 70% rule?
By vaccinating at least 70% of a stable population of dogs in the local area, they act as a barrier to disease transmission and stop rabies in its tracks, this protecting the people in that area from the disease. A healthy, vaccinated street dog population is the best protection for people from rabies.
Let's learn from Bali. Let vaccinate our dogs with rabisin. Together we fight against rabies.

Wouldn't it be easier/cheaper just to kill the dogs?
Killing dogs has been scientifically proven to have no effect on rabies transmission or overall population, since new dogs quickly move into the area where killing has taken place to take advantage of the increased food resources and territory. This mixing of new dogs may even increase the risk of rabies due to fighting over territory and mates. There are approximately 300 homeless dogs and cats residing at Sarawak Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animal (SSPCA) animal shelter and our surrounding. SSPCA is registered non-profit organisation with the Registrar of Societies, Malaysia. We do not receive any funding from the government and rely entirely on public donations. Your contribution will help us to sustain our operations and works.
Donate ONE pack of 10kg RICE now to help them. We need 240 packs of 10kg rice every month.

NO, if it is locally born and bred.
If it is imported from a rabies-infected area, then yes. Check the vaccination card if it is still valid.
