What's there not to love about Gerbils? They're active,extremely inquisitive and are super duper friendly! Rescue Story of the Day: Our Animal Rescue officers rescued a cat that was stuck in a hole due to the area being full of soil and leafs. They had to forcefully dig an opening through the hardened soil and rescue the cat. The cat was in a healthy condition and no injuries were found.

On 3 March 2013 (Sunday), at about 2300hrs, we were alerted to the discovery of two cats' bodies at the back of a bus stop along Kallang Bahru Rd (shown in the picture). The bodies were found in a dog food bag. We are appealing to anyone with information on the case to come forward and assist us in our investigations. Yesterday, the SPCA reunited two owners on the same day with their dogs! One was a cocker spaniel and the other was a cross terrier. The importance of making sure your animal is micro- chipped will aid both you and the SPCA during instances where your pet is lost. Rescue Story of the Day: On Sunday, March 3 2013, our Animal Rescue Officers managed to save a Golden Retriever which was stuck on a hot aluminium roof in a building along Lorong Geylang 8. The dog who suffered intense sun burn on his paws was placed in a rescue harness and brought back to safety. We are currently trying to trace the owners of the dog.

On Monday, 4 March 2013, SBS called to inform us that one of their bus drivers had accidentally knocked into a mongrel upon one of his bus routes . Our Animal Rescue Officers were notified of the incident, and immediately went to the site. But due to the impact of the collision, the dog did not survive.
