Finding Lost Animals 24th Nov 2011, by SPCA Singapore
SPCA thanks all those who have helped to reunite lost animals with their owners by calling us when you come across one. But SPCA needs a bit more help. If the animal is running loose, we would need callers to confine it or monitor it to see where it goes until our Animal Rescue Officer arrives. This is to make sure that the dog, cat or rabbit has not run off somewhere else and cannot be found. This also applies to animals that are injured or sick but still mobile. Other ways you could help is t...

SPCA thanks all the concerned individuals who have made the effort to report instances of cruelty, abuse or neglect to us.
Please continue to do so but bear in mind that SPCA's inspectors investigate around 90-100 cases of alleged cruelty every month. As such, we would advise the public to report all cases to SPCA directly by calling our 24-hour hotline 62875355 ext 9 (rather than on Facebook). We will require your name, contact number and the exact location (including the unit number) to expe...

SPCA thanks all those concerned individuals for caring for the animals and helping us in our animal welfare work.
If you witness deliberate abuse of an animal or observe pets in dire conditions (exposed to rain/sun, kept in cramped cages with minimal room to move), please call 62875355 ext 9. We will require your name, contact number and the exact location of the animal.
Our telephone line is manned 24/7 (unlike Facebook/email) and we can attend to the more urgent cases immediately.

SPCA Law Review
We are proposing that failure to take care of the welfare of a pet should be an offence. Penalising an owner for not having exercised reasonable care or supervision can prevent a pet from unnecessary suffering.
Since December 2010, the SPCA has been reviewing the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals section of the Animals and Birds Act. We now seek your feedback on our "Proposal for Legislative Reform". To read the entire paper and give your feedback, go to www.spca.org.sg/lawrevie...

Pet Care Tip: In light of a recent case on Stomp about a cat allegedly beaten when it strayed into a man’s home, an SPCA supporter asked if we can educate people on what to do if they don’t want these animals straying into their homes. That’s an excellent idea indeed. We will be sharing with you some useful tips with you starting this Friday.
It is a natural instinct for cats to want to dig soil and bury their feces. If you live on a low floor and have potted plants, you may be inviting ...

We now seek your feedback on our "Proposal for Legislative Reform".

Pet Care Tip: Despite their small and compact size, Jack Russell Terriers are active and hyper dogs. When they get difficult to handle, keeping them leashed outside the home is not the solution. It is important to read up on a particular breed’s personality and his needs if you are interested in getting a dog. Otherwise you could end up neglecting him because you do not know how to handle his needs.
