Painted Terrapins And River Terrapins Are Differen.. 18th Sep 2023, by Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia
Painted terrapins and river terrapins are different species found in the same rivers, but what’s the difference? One of the key differences between painted terrapins and river terrapins is their nesting location. While they live in the same rivers and both nest on the sandbanks of rivers, painted terrapins also nest on beaches. Upon hatching, the hatchlings migrate from saltwater back to the fresh water of the river.
As the population of painted terrapins is dwindling, it is essential that we...

We also want them to love these critically endangered species, and later when they become future leaders, they will ...

Painted terrapins are targets of poaching, as their striking colours makes them desirable as pets. This causes the wild population to decline, and improper care of the terrapins in captivity may lead to their premature deaths. Now, painted terrapins are a protected species in Malaysia, making it illegal to sell them, but they are still under threat.
As the population of painted terrapins is dwindling, it is essential that we protect them. Together with @coffeebeanmy, we are holding the Save Ter...

Fishing Nets Are A Hazard To Painted Terrapins, As.. 5th Sep 2023, by Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia

As the population of painted terrapins is dwindling, it is essential that we protect them. Together with @coffeebeanmy, we are holding the Save Terry Campaign to help achieve this goal. For every purchase of Terry merchandi...
