Orange Cat, Blondie, IS Pregnant After All
19th Sep 2011, by AnimalCare

Two weeks ago, Kar Bin brought two female cats to be spayed under our sponsorship. Ref: http://www.myanimalcar e.org/2011/08/1-cat-spayed-another-not-yet-teh-kar .htmlOne was spayed but the other had signs of possible pregnancy (I wonder why there is no urine test for feline pregnancy!), ie. "marbles" in her abdomen. Since it is in our policy that we do NOT spay pregnant cats, the vet advised Kar Bin to take Blondie (the orange one) back and bring back in two weeks, which was today.Wel...

[Appeal from MDDB & MCCP Northern] This female puppy was found abandoned at Tanjung Bungah market. Some MPPP workers had witnessed one person dumping a box of pups at the market. 2 were later crushed dead on the spot by passer cars. Again, we want to stress here on the importance of "SPAY & NEUTER". Stop resorting to "animals dumping" and indirectly turning yourselves into MURDERERS! - Save Lives, Spay & Neuter. If you wish to give this puppy and comfortable home and a better life, please cont...

We Appeal For Your Understanding And Cooperation - We Have Our Limitations Too
19th Sep 2011, by AnimalCare

Last weekend I was swarmed with calls, some of which involved the rescue of animals. Coincidentally last weekend I also had many other things to do which involved my other role as a public speaker.   Many people do not realise that AnimalCare does NOT provide rescue services. We do not have the expertise nor skills to do such work.  It is stated clearly in our policies but granted, some people do not find out just what is it that we do. Just because we are an animal welfare NPO, p...

18th Sep 2011, by AnimalCare

Tiger may be Gandhi-personified and he may be the only cat who has never hissed at anyone, BUT woe betide whoever attempts to take his baby basket....And who might these brave (naive?) detractors be? It was a peaceful Saturday night. On cold and rainy nights, cats love to cuddle up, don't they?Watch....(caught in the act, by Ming-Yi while I was away): Hey Bagheera...baskets? It looks real comfy, doesn't it? But Uncle Tiger's sleeping in it...we shouldn't disturb him (says Bagheera).&nb...

Injured Kitten In Need Of Rescue And Help
18th Sep 2011, by AnimalCare

I received this last night, at 11:57pm (near midnight):There is a very young kitten near my house whose eyes seem to be unopened - don't know if she's blind -  and both her hind legs are disabled (maybe injured). I really don't know how I can help her and I don't trust myself to. Reason being, I had a rather bad experience trying to nurse an injured baby bird when I was young. My friends and I were trying to warm her up on a cold rainy evening in Camerons - the idea was to hold her in our p...
