Here’s a lovely story, from the Soi Dog newsletter:
A Soi Dog supporter found this 4 month old puppy in Phuket, guarding her mother’s corpse. Pammi refused to go anywhere (her mother had died three or four days previously). Someone had buried Pammi’s mother at a nearby tree, but Pammi was still refusing to move. Baggy Gains Confidence!

Baggy had been hissing at everyone all morning. Everyone tried to be friendly, but the poor girl was not ready yet.
The only person she did not hiss at was good old Uncle Bobby!

Baggy At Mid-Morning

Some milestones this morning…
Baggy venturing out to the pantry on her own.
Drinking water!
Poor Tabs wants so much to play, but Baggy keeps hissing at her.
I brought the little box out, hoping Baggy would use it. She still has not pee-ed.
She preferred to scratch on her fish pad.

Dog's Island Shelter

The Bangkok floods have now disappeared and we hope for no reoccurrence this year.
Dog Island had been a temporary refuge for hundreds of dogs displaced.
Prior to the floods a woman named Khun Ruen operated a shelter in this area
relying on the generosity of the community.
Unfortunately the shelter was destroyed by the floods and Khun Ruen's dogs were moved to the rescue centre at WFFT

Ally, The Sleeping Beauty

Ally was one of the 4 female pups rescued end of last year. Two of her siblings have since been adopted and she is still waiting for her turn to get a new home. She is about 1 year old now and that day in the shelter she gave us a scare. We thought there was something wrong with her when we saw her lying down in this unusual position. "Rodents? Leave them to us," said Munchkins, the reticulated python who was in the middle of digesting his lunch.
The town council called in their pest control who safely contained Munchkins and handed him over to us- along with his lunch- a huge rat who was regurgitated.
The eternally hungry rescue officers 'Ta Pao-ed' his lunch and delivered it after the python was released. Their appetite, sad to say, was 'released' too.

It has been brought to my attention that two rescuers (let’s call them No.1 and No.2) are planning to get someone else to put in some claims on behalf of them because they do not wish to reveal their names to us.
Hmm…but why? What is wrong with revealing their names? Unless they are running some clandestine operation which cannot see the light of day?

Baggy Begins Her 3rd Day With My Cats

Last night, I let Baggy sleep in her Holey Box beside me as I slept on the bench in the room.
This morning, I found she had made herself a little sanctuary in the room, surrounded by two boxes. It was cute. Sorry my camera battery ran out on me, so no photo.
I thought I should take her out to the garden for a stretch…

I am currently working at a pet store in KL. Recently our area is
being occupied by a stray female dog and her two pups. The two pups
are at the back of our store and the mother would go off (so far to
