THE LUCKY 8 MOVE TO THE PUPPY RUN - CAUGHT ON VIDEO!
This week the "Lucky 8" pups moved to the Puppy Run, having to leave the volunteers who've hand reared them since they were 3 days old. I think the pups found the whole ordeal a lot easier than the volunteers!
Watch as these cute little guys get to meet lots of new friends.
This week 2 pups (Marcelo & Alister) were adopted. We have just six to go! If you can offer one of these pups a forever home, please email cindy@soidog.org They are ad...

Baloo Is In Rainbow Bridge (Andy Lew’s) 29th Apr 2012, by AnimalCare
Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2012/04/28/baloo-blu ey-under-critical-care-andy-lews/
It is with deep sadness that I inform all our readers and well-wishers that Baloo passed on at 10pm last night.
I just received the news from Andy Lew and I think I’m also in shock. It is, however, not totally unexpected since she was in a critical condition last night. I was already prepared for the worst, but I hoped for the best. This morning, I told Andy that should I fail to find a fosterer for Baloo ...

One of the most effective ways you can help all the dogs in soi Dog's care is through a monthly sponsorship of one of them. Your sponsorship of around 80 cents a day provides the much needed funding to help carry out the work of helping the neglected and abused animals.
http://www.soidog.org/en/sponsor-a-dog-or-cat/
Dooby is just one of the over 300 dogs at the shelter who you can sponsor. Dooby arrived at the shelter in a terrible state, poor love. He had a dreadful fungal infection all ove...

SABAI. Very early Sunday morning and Sabai pictured here with Reggie who helped John transport her and 2 other dogs rescued from the floods, leaves SDF for her flight with adopter Helga to Switzerland. It was August last year that Sabai became the first dog to be taken out from Nakhom Phanom by Khun Bee. She spent a week in a clinic in Bangkok before arriving at SDF, where she gradually got the use of her back legs back again. To see footage of Sabai when first spotted and at SDF see http://www....

Baloo Bluey Under Critical Care (Andy Lew’s) 28th Apr 2012, by AnimalCare
While I was at the Bersih Rally, and when we still had reception, I texted Andy twice to ask about Baloo. However, Andy had left his hp behind, so I only managed to call him later, while on the train heading home.
Baloo was in a rather critical state. The X-Rays show fluid in the lungs and this is causing her breathing difficulties.
The vet was not sure what the fluid was and needed to draw some out for testing but told Andy the procedure was a 50-50 case and that Baloo might die.
That was shock...

Bersih 3.0 28th Apr 2012, by AnimalCare
Once in a while, I need to take time off from running AnimalCare and do other things which are important to me.
So, today, allow me the indulgence to share my day with you.
Last year I was in Penang attending my brother-in-law’s funeral on 9th July (Bersih 2.0). So this year, by hook or by crook, I just had to go. Talk about “social responsibility”, this is it.
It’s for our children’s future, and their children’s. And who knows, the animals might have better ...

Updates On 28th Apr 2012 28th Apr 2012, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)
A poultry farm saw a reticulated python devour a chicken.
Rescue volunteer officer, Sheryl Fever: "Looking at those chickens cramped in cages, row upon row, with no shelter from the hot sun, I actually think the python did the chicken a favour, providing it with a quick death."
Charlene from ACRES: "Of all the rescues, this has to be one of the most disturbing to date."
(Due to confidentiality, venue cannot be disclosed).

Dog's Island Shelter 28th Apr 2012, by Soi Dog Foundation
The Bangkok floods have now disappeared and we hope for no reoccurrence this year.
Prior to the floods a woman named Khun Ruen operated a shelter in this area relying on the generosity
of the community.
Unfortunately the shelter was destroyed by the floods and Khun Ruen's dogs were moved to the rescue centre at WFFT. Soi Dog has committed to rebuild the Khun Ruen shelter.
Will you help to keep fulfilling her promise to the dogs?
Please consider helping Khun Ruen by donating today at:
