Our Pets Are Just Like Humans They Need Vaccinatio.. 22nd Oct 2018, by SPCA Sarawak
Our pets are just like humans — they need vaccinations to stay healthy and to keep potentially deadly diseases away. They also need boosters to keep the vaccines effective.
If your dog has already been vaccinated then treatment usually entails just a booster vaccine. This will help RE-AFFIRM the dog’s IMMUNITY to rabies and further REDUCE the chances of it developing. Even though your dog may be vaccinated, you are required to keep the dog in for observation for up to 7-10 days if rabies i...

A Dog Rescue Attempt 21st Oct 2018, by AnimalCare
Early this morning, my friend, Julia, texted to ask if I could find anyone who would be able to rescue this mother-dog and two puppies from a roundabout in Subang Jaya. Apparently, this mother-dog crosses the very busy roundabout roads many times a day and Julia was very worried that the little puppies would follow her and get knocked down by cars.
I contacted a friend and he was very kind to offer some help. So, the arrangement was made and Julia would meet this group of rescuers at the locatio...

Updates On 21st Oct 2018 21st Oct 2018, by WWF Malaysia
Wetlands are often seen as wasted space to be paved or drained.
But healthy wetlands benefit us in so many ways. They provide us with water, irrigate rice paddies and other crops, support freshwater fisheries that feed tens of millions, help defend cities from floods, and provide a home for 40% of the world’s species. But these benefits are often undervalued - until they are lost.
This week, 170 countries are gathering for #RamsarCOP13 to boost global efforts to save our vanishing wetlands.

Wetlands are the most diverse ecosystems on our planet 🌎
They supply us with water and food, provide the best natural defences against extreme floods and storms, help mitigate climate change and provide homes to 40% of all the world’s species.
Yet, ⅓ of the world’s wetlands were lost between 1970-2015. And they are still being lost at an alarming rate.
Today, 170 countries are gathering in Dubai for the world’s most important wetlands conference to try and halt the destruction. A...

Of Whiners And Squawkers 21st Oct 2018, by AnimalCare
I just learnt a new word today – squawker! I was looking for synonyms for whiners for the subject of this post.
Right now, Ginger is whining all over the house again – I think he wants his dim sum, but no, I’m not giving it to him since he has already eaten breakfast. I got up at 3.45am today because I have so much to do. I need to finish marking test papers, I have to work on the next blanket and there are claims to pay out.
This morning (that’s at 3.45am), Vincent happi...

Vincent’s Updates 20th Oct 2018, by AnimalCare
This is going to be a long update. It covers from Thursday night till now (Saturday night).
During the last visit to the vet’s on Wednesday, the vet suggested that since Vincent won’t eat the renal diet, I’m to give him homecooked, canned and raw (in that order, with raw being the last option).
You know how it is that Vincent “listens” to the vet, right? Time and time again, he has proven to do so.
So, after that clinic visit, he didn’t want to eat raw anymore...

This is how Ginger does it:

Th is is how Bunny responds:
https://myanimalcare.org/wp-content/uplo ads/2018/10/WhatsApp-Video-2018-10-18-at-10.57.01. mp4
Bunny finds the whining very annoying.
I think Ginger is either attention-seeking or he wants to go out to the porch to sit under the cars, but Zurik is outside and Ginger had been attacked by Zurik a few times resulting in wounds that required antibio...
