GRATEFUL FOR YOU
Just look at the expression on the face of this cat living in Avsallar, Turkey. She's just had a good meal. Each day, volunteer Manuela Wroblewski walks 6 or more hours, delivering meals to street animals here. Life here isn't easy for the homeless animals, but she brings them the treasured gift of food. Spay/neuter campaigns are run frequently and many cats are being adopted abroad. Thanks to all of you, we just sent another $2,000 to purchase food for the animals this month. ...

"Cats are not humans and humans are not cats and it is important that we humans, as the servants of cats, be aware of this difference."
That's Dr. Charles Snowdon, a psychologist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He's been on a quirky mission to – yes, you're reading this right – create music for cats. You can listen to some of his "meow-sic" at http://www.musicforcats.com.
"We were motivated to make music for cats for two reasons," he said. "First, many pet owners told us that they...

QUINTUS the cat, happily ever after!
Quintus, as a kitten, started on his adoption journey, one fine day at SPCA, with a curl around Pierre-Emmanuel’s neck the very minute his cage was opened.
The next thing he knew, he became adopted into Pierre-Emmanuel’s family, and about four years later today, has not looked back since. This cat has gone places literally, from Singapore to Europe and now India!
Our sincere thanks again to Pierre-Emmanuel and Hamid, for giving this cutie a loving hom...

Another Free-And-Easy Tour For Ginger 3rd Mar 2015, by AnimalCare
Ever since Ginger got his first free-and-easy tour of Bunny’s Place and despite being shockingly attacked by Indy, he has been trying to walk right into Bunny’s Place each time I open the grille.
Yesterday, he managed to come in as I was opening the grille.
The irony of it all is, Ginger yearns to come in while Tabs is dying to get out, so most of time, it is actually a one-on-one exchange!
Ooh…a cat pillow! How exciting!
I peeped out. The two titans were sleeping.
Those fal...

The Impending GST 3rd Mar 2015, by AnimalCare
This is to let everyone know that as an organisation, we are not GST-rated (of course!), but we are affected in that most of our Gifts by Donation come from companies that are GST-rated, hence the prices of many gifts will increase in April.
If need be, we would have to adjust our prices of the gifts in April, especially for petfood (sorry!). We would also like to inform everyone that we have kept the price of Path-Away very low but the price has actually increased due to the depreciation of t...

To: Chan Kah Yein <chankahyein@gmail.com>
Dear Dr Chan,
Kiko (the orange-coloured cat) is a kitten from a rescued mother cat, Mami. (For the record, I applied for and received Mami’s spaying subsidy last December 2014). Kiko is now about 5-6months old. I decided to spay her before she started to go on heat.
Puteh (the white-c...

Oh Zurik! I Am But A Fool… 3rd Mar 2015, by AnimalCare
Yes, besides Winnie the Pooh’s “I’m just a little black rain cloud”, Mr Zurik also makes me hear Neil Sedaka’s “Oh Carol” with the former’s sneaky, crafty yet endearing antics.
What did he do today?
Well, he came late for breakfast.
And Mr Zurik does not just eat his food. He ATTACKS his food and the kibbles will fly out of the bowl.
Vincent decided we should waste not and want not, so he approached to eat up the kibbles.
Hmm….this is good....

It's World Wildlife Day today! Did you know that the Earth has lost half it's wildlife in the past 40 years? Have you ever wondered what would happen if Malaysia lost all it's willdife? We are using more resources than the Earth can produce, pushing flora and fauna to the brink of extinction.
Our colleagues in Sabah are working to replant degraded forests in North Ulu Segama, Sabah, in hopes to secure long-term habitats for wildlife and restore our forests. Help us continue our work and donate ...

BE A CHANGEMAKER: JOIN THE CHONG PANG PUBLIC FORUM ON ANIMAL PROTECTION POLICIES
It’s fantastic that nowadays there are so many groups rescuing animals. This work is important but our ultimate aim must be to eradicate the need for such rescues. To really move forward for the animals, we need to solve the root causes of animal abuse/suffering, and one way we can achieve this is through changes at policy level.
Join this year’s event to learn about the positive progress for animals that occu...
