The Great Animal Rescue Chase & Harmony Fund 14th Oct 2015, by The Great Animal Rescue Chase
CAN WE GIVE SOME HELP TO THESE ANIMALS IN BULGARIA?
There's a whole lot of love at this Bulgarian animal rescue center, but very little money. A mounting debt of veterinary expenses and food are making it impossible for them to address the most urgent need for new roofing materials to be installed on top of the kennels. The particle board that had been used as a temporary solution is rotting through and won't survive another heavy rain let alone a snowfall.
"Thank you for your help! Because yo...

The Bird House And Its Occupants 13th Oct 2015, by AnimalCare
As you know, the Bird Family consists of Daffodil, Rosie and Ginger; so named because when Rosie and Ginger were small, they had punkish hair which made them look like baby birds.
Now, Daffodil LOVES boxes.
Which cat doesn’t, right?
But Daffodil’s trademark in every box which she considers her home and hideout (or bomb shelter, if you like) is her scratches on the box. She will scratch the base of the box until the cardboard comes off in bits. Only then will it be declared “ho...

10 Ways To Stress Out Your Dog 13th Oct 2015, by AnimalCare
Anthropomophising animals sometimes does more harm than good. So, what works for us humans may not work for dogs (or cats, for that matter). And sometimes, certain things are pretty obvious to us but may not be perceived so by animals.
For example, did you know that saying “it’s okay” to pacify and assure your dog each time something unpleasant is about to happen may cause your dog’s stress levels to shoot through the roof whenever he hears “it’s okay”?...

JOEY’S BASKING SPOT
Joey is a Chinese softshell turtle who was rescued in late 2013 with a severely deformed shell. She had been (illegally) kept by a member of public for over 10 years.
When we receive new animals, we take time to observe their behaviour, to understand what they like to do, their favourite food, basking spot, hiding spots, etc. Our turtle enclosures are designed such that half the enclosure receives natural sunlight for half the day. We observed that Joey liked to use her ...

FILL THE BOWL & FILL THE HEART... Donation of Kibbles needed for our shelter animals.
Did you know that quality kibble makes a difference in adoption rates?
Why it’s important to donate quality kibble…
Transitioning our dogs to raw improved their skin and coat health, increased their activity level, reduced allergies, and more. Feeding dogs a high quality kibble has a similar impact on a dog’s health. Dogs make much better adoption candidates when they’re healthy and in good shape.
