A little good news on Rhino, the Green Iguana: In March, we were alerted to a sick Green iguana by the roadside. When we reached the rescue location, we were shocked to find a female Green iguana in very bad condition, emaciated and possibly gravid. Shell we keep terrapins? Baby terrapins are really cute! But they tend to grow to be about the size of a typical dinner plate, and can live up to the age of 50 years! The SPCA does not encourage the keeping of terrapins because of this, as many terrapin owners have been observed to release their terrapins, after some time, into ponds and reservoirs, thereby upsetting the ecological balance of our natural environment.
