It was in April that I was driving down my road where I noticed a bunny-coloured cat with a big injury on his left shoulder.
Although the injury looked very big, the cat was walking nonchalantly by the road, none the worse for his injury. I knew there was no way I could catch the cat and he didn’t look like he was suffering in any way too. The wound looked like it was already healing.
The next day, I went to look for him along that road and I found him!

Mr Zurik After Detention And Getting Rosie To Come Back

Mr Zurik made a racket while under detention.
After one-and-a-half hours of ignoring all the noise, I found he had completely torn Ginger and Timmy’s favourite cardboard box (sobs!) and of course he had toppled his water bowl.
He was stressed out after failing to break the double latches of the cage.
So I let him out.
Before that, I had checked the porch. Only Daffodil and Timmy were there. Rosie had already gone off.

Mr Zurik In A “correctional Facility”

Mr Zurik has gone too far this time.
It’s been building up over the days, actually. He started terrorising Rosie, then Daffodil and with Vincent, it’s been ongoing all these months.
Today, he turned on Ginger and Timmy.
The only one spared from his bullying seems to be Heidi.
So at dinner time, I put his bowl into one of Timmy’s cages and…

Mr Zurik has been chasing Rosie lately, and a few days ago, he started chasing Daffodil as well.
Last night, we heard Rosie squealing at the porch and when I went out to check, Rosie was nowhere to be seen. Mr Zurik was outside the gate. It was dark, and we couldn’t find Rosie.

“Cats R Purr-fect” as our companions!
We held two “Cats R Purrfect” workshops over the past two afternoons for our youth supporters. They learnt what it takes to be a great cat owner through the talks and activities, and also got to interact with the cats in our shelter (the fun, hands-on part!).
On an educational note, healthy cats tend to keep themselves clean from head to toe, and we could be taking a cue from them in all things self-grooming and physical cleanliness! Hygiene freak...
