Drumrolll…..the ARMY GREEN Colour!!

Finally….the supplier was so accommodating, they mixed six army green shades and 2 cobalt blues for us to choose from!
Here they are….
Hmm…now, they seem to look almost the same, but no, they are all quite different.
So, we took it out into the sun to get a better and sharper look…
To be fair, the priority is Army Green as it won by one vote (remember?) and the two shades of cobalt blue weren’t nice too.

We received a call about an injured community cat and our Animal Rescue Officer (ARO) arrived on the scene to find this. Near the flower bed at the void deck of Block 837 Woodlands Street 82 was an adult white and brown local cat. But this girl had an unusual injury - there was a rubber band tied around her left front leg. Our ARO brought her back to our shelter, and our consultant vet gave her a thorough check. The rubber band appears to have been wound over twice.

No wonder, I’ve often noticed that none of the cats like a belly rub when they do “tummy up” and I’ve actually stopped doing the belly rub (I believe it’s dogs who like it!). What I do is to speak to them and acknowledge their trust, maybe rub their thigh instead. This video says all they want is a scratch on the head.
Lots to learn, folks! And about time too, since they understand us better than we do...

The Vegan Pet Controversy In Australia

While it is entirely possible for some humans to be vegetarian or even vegan, we believe that cats are carnivorous while dogs are also carnivorous (but need a little bit more plant food than cats). Meet Cookie (lovingly nicknamed Cookie Monster by her owner). Adopted from our shelter by Meliati and her family all the way back in 2001 when she was two years old, Cookie is doing well and living the life! This girl truly has the happy ending that all the animals in our shelter dream of. Meliati took Cookie in 12 years ago and promised her forever. Medical Subsidy For Mitz Pots (now RIP) (Rolida @ Intan Shahar’s)

We have subsdised RM372.75 for the medical treatment for Mitz Pots. This subsidy comes from all donors through our Medical Fund (RM172.75) and Berjaya Cares (RM200).
There were two bills for Mitz Pots, one was RM848.50 and an earlier one was RM39. Of this amount, we did not subsidise the Advocate (RM22) and 6 days’ boarding (RM120), but we subsidised the hospitalisation (RM281.50).
We wish Mitz Pots a happy life in her new existence now.

You guessed right. There's not really a "sale" but sometimes a sense of humor helps. We are indeed suffering from an 85% drop in donations during the month of July.
Summer does bring us so many blessings, but it's a bit of a tough time to raise funds. We haven't been able to respond to as many pleas for help as normal, but tonight, we took a little leap of faith and sent a small donation to Romania to feed these dogs.
Here's hoping that August...
