9 Persian Cats For Immediate Adoption (from A Reader)

A reader texted me yesterday to ask if we would have any adopters for 9 Persian cats. Apparently, these cats belong to an owner but the owner wants to have them euthanised because she has an allergy to cats. I immediately asked for the photos so that we can publicise for adoption.

The winters in Romania are bitter cold, yet thousands of dogs and cats are living in shelters that have gaping holes in the rooves and walls. Their fur is soaking wet with snow and it simply doesn’t dry. Volunteers who feed the dogs and cats are helpless to warm the sea of animals around them. There’s no money to buy blankets or straw. Medical Subsidy For 2 Parvo Puppies (Kelly Tan Juat Jong’s)

We have subsidised RM356 for the treatment of these two puppies, both of whom are now back with Kelly. The total bill was RM712. This subsidy comes from all donors through our Medical Fund (RM156) and Berjaya Cares (RM200).

We received an emergency call today about an animal in distress and boy was our Animal Rescue Officer surprised when he arrived on the scene!
Unable to fly, this bird was found on a void deck in Yishun by a resident. Our Rescue Officer managed to bring the injured bird back to our shelter, and the bird is now on its way in our rescue vehicle to Jurong Bird Park, where the vets have better expertise with wild birds.

Stray Dogs And Cats In Istanbul, Turkey

I have spent a few days touring around in Istanbul, Turkey. I am most impressed by the freedom given to the dogs and cats to roam around in this big city. I have taken pictures of them in the popular tourist spots, open parks, shops, eateries and even religious places. I see many Turks play with the cats in the parks, those in the eateries will feed them, some of the residential area will see bowls of kibble in front of their houses for the strays to eat.
