At ACRES, we do our level best to ensure the optimal welfare of our animals and what better way than by providing our rescued Indian star tortoises with enrichment. In the wild, Indian star tortoises will have to negotiate different terrain and obstacles to find food and shelter. Ong Lai is approximately 2 years old and most of her life was spent being tied up almost 24/7.
Having an irresponsible owner has caused Ong Lai to get pregnant a couple of times and she has to go through the heartache of seeing her puppies being taken away to be dumped elsewhere and seeing one after another died due to hit & run, right in front of her own eyes.
