The pigeon featured here is the Common Pigeon, or Rock Pigeon. It is an extremely misunderstood animal in Singapore, and are considered by most to be pests. Here at ACRES, we do receive calls regarding injured birds from time to time, and will try our best to help them.

Tiger’s Quiet Afternoon Upstairs

After coming back from the vet’s, I guess two days of traveling to the vet’s had taken quite a stressful toll on Tiger. So, after I gave him his medicines, he fled upstairs.
Since there is no other cat inside the house, I let him stay upstairs and he was there for 4 hours before I finally brought dinner upstairs for him.
He just stayed under the sofa the whole time.

We are absolutely thrilled that quite a few of our hamsters and guinea pigs have been adopted at the AVA's roadshow at Northpoint Shopping Centre (opposite G2000) happening till 8pm today. Do join us and if you can't make it today, no worries. We will be here again tomorrow (Sunday) from 11am-8pm along with more small animals for adoption. We hope to see you there.

Neutering Sponsorship For Shorty The Dog (Mary Soh Chooi Bing’s)

We have fully sponsored RM150 for Shorty’s neutering. Shorty is the community dog who was captured along with his friend, Blackie due to a complaint by a neighbour. It took Mary 40 days to finally obtain their release from the pound. Shorty is now neutered and waiting for adoption.

From the 10th to the 21st of March 2014, ACRES is proud to have 3 students from the German European School Singapore come and work with us. These students will be completing a two-week long work attachment with us, to learn about working with animals and how ACRES operates.

Tiger Gets RetroMAD1 (Day 2)

Connie came over to fetch me to the clinic where I hoped Tiger will qualify for the RetroMAD1.
The vet was really nice and kind.
He explained that not all sporo cats make it despite treatment and one’s best efforts. Tiger, being FIV-positive for so many years also means that his immunity is already significantly compromised, so this does not work to Tiger’s favour.
