From ACRES Lao PDR "In the first week of this month, we had four new animals in our care!
The four macaques were donated in the middle of the night. The monk who brought them said he had traveled from a temple in southern Lao. He explained that the temple is very close to what is know locally as a 'monkey forest' and is home to many macaques. He told us that people will often catch them to be kept as pets or tourist 'attractions' but that they will often get donated to the temple too.

Update On These 2 Pups. They Are Now About 2.5 Mon..

They are now about 2.5 months old. A neighbour is helping rescuer to foster them until next Adoption Drive. They still have no luck finding adopters.
And due to the new job and time constraint (fosterer is working 7-11am and 4-10pm daily), the pups are not taking care well. There were soak in urine and poop, fed once a day with rice and fish (prepared ...

Since the opening of our outdoor sanctuary on the 14th Nov 2013, we are constantly making improvements to it. Our latest development would be the outdoor kitchen, that is being used to prepare food and enrichment for our animals now.
Kalai, our Head of Animal Care, started getting the kitchen up with quality recycled materials and here are some of the pictures how the kitchen came about just from an unfriendly slope and a narrow pathway we had!

DOGS ON DEATHROW: MPSP DOG POUND

Elly was a rescued from the pound.
We posted her photo on FB and soon after Felicia contacted us with intention to adopt her. We were so happy for Elly that arrangement was made to spay her before sending her to her new home. Unfortunately, our happiness was short-lived as we soon found out that Elly was tested positive of parvo. She was having bloody diarrhea and needs to be put on drips. Luckily, Elly is an optimistic girl. Her strong will to live enable her to have a speedy recovery.
