Updates On 20th Sep 2013 20th Sep 2013, by SPCA Singapore
In the lead up to the international World Animal Day, SMU PAW (the group who helped us organize our WAD2013's stage shows and competitions) is holding a cake auction!
Instead of the usual sponge cake, cream and fancy food coloring (all of which should not be part of a canine's natural diet), this cake is actually a delicious meatloaf, made with premium meats and vegetables and topped with mashed potato.
Stand a chance to walk away with this 3-tier cake sponsored by their wonderful partner,...

This week at AWRC, we are very happy to let everyone know about our Giant Asian pond turtles first night out in their outdoor enclosures. As some of you might know, we have been in the process of constructing an outdoor sanctuary for the animals in AWRC with the help of volunteers. As the project comes to a close, we have begun trials of bringing the animals to the outdoor sanctuary to slowly let them adapt back to the natural environment.

Blanket No. 5 In The Making (and No. 6 Too?) 19th Sep 2013, by AnimalCare
Blanket No. 5 is going to take some time as it requires a bit more planning and measuring…
It’s a Mickey Mouse Blanket (with Minnie too!).
And since I was there at my mum’s place offering suggestions on the design, I thought I might as well bring home some cloth and see if I am inspired enough to start on Blanket No. 6….
Ginger is going to help me ‘coz it’s orange!
Life has been a bit of a turmoil lately, so it’s good to slow down and do somet...

Heidi’s Mornings 19th Sep 2013, by AnimalCare
As a conscientious teacher, she is also a strict disciplinarian. Her student cannot miss a single class.
Now go on ahead, you know what to do…
Yes, this is the spot to start.
Don’t try any tricks…I’m watching you like a hawk.
And the amazing thing is (well, not so amazing since Heidi is, after all, the master, isn’t she?) Heidi knows when the sequence ends and just before it ends, she rolls over on her belly and demands a belly rub.
You know, cats have been ...

Adoption Spotlight: Princess Jodi (left) and Princess Toni (right).
Princess Jodi, Princess Toni and Comet are siblings who came to our shelter together when they were only about 3 months old. Comet was lucky and got adopted soon after. Unfortunately for Princess Jodi and Princess Toni, they didn't have the same luck. Now 5 months old, these babies are growing up fast in our shelter, and we'd love for them to find their own homes. These lovely brindle puppies are super curious and can't wait ...

Updates On 19th Sep 2013 19th Sep 2013, by SPCA Singapore
We received a call earlier this year in January, asking us to pick up a pet dog for euthanasia. When our Animal Rescue Officer arrived on the scene, he found that the dog had a huge maggot wound on its face. The dog was rushed back to our shelter for treatment and our inspector was alerted. We removed as many of the maggots as we could, and our consultant vet found that the surrounding tissue and bone structures were very badly damaged. Unfortunately, the damage was too severe and we could not s...
