“Run Free ‘Lil Ones” Day

My son declared that at least once a week, Bunny & Friends should be allowed to “run free”, in order words, to be allowed out of the room.
Normally, it’s on a Tuesday, but since everyone was home today, we decided to make it today as well.

How Heidi Spends Her Afternoons

Heidi, as you know, is still adjusting to her new life here. We know you simply cannot tell a cat what to do or what not to do, so we have been giving her time to adjust and find her spots.
We know she goes back to the playground to play and have fun every morning after breakfast.
What does she do after that?
It’s almost 3pm now, and she’s been here since 11am…

This is Karl Marx, formerly known as Zack back in our shelter. Adopted by the Lim family, Zack was a really shy boy who needed lots of patience and guidance to help him get over his anxiety. He used to huddle at the back of his kennel and was really intimidated by strangers and strange noises. Under the Lim family's dedicated care, he has since found confidence and couldn't be happier. Heidi’s Morning At The Playground

Heidi seems to be adjusting well to her new life of being a playground cat.
When she first came (on her own, marched into our house), it was quite clear that she had been newly abandoned and was seeking her old comforts of being a home-pet. She demanded to stay in the kitchen, sleep on the sofa and she wanted to be queen.

Whitey was a rescued dog from Selayang. We funded his TVT treatment and neutering after which he was relocated to a shelter in Ipoh by his rescuer, Yap Mei Han, but he fell sick there and was brought back for treatment (suspected tick fever). Vedrana Lukacevic raised funds through Facebook for Whitey for this second round of treatment.

Banny Pei-Pei is a left-behind pet-dog, rescued by Ms Lee in Ipoh. His owners moved away and left him behind with another dog. We funded his leg treatment and he is now well. Ms Lee will look after him now…for the rest of his life.

Valerie the Green iguana.
Valerie is one of our residents at the ACRES wildlife rescue centre. Yet another victim of the illegal wildlife trade, Valerie probably led a stressful life, being smuggled into Singapore from her native South America. She was found abandoned in a cardboard box way back in 2011.
