Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2012/10/10/raven-the -black-kitty-has-mange/
Many thanks to Joy and Melyssa for the tip on using oil to treat mange in cats. I too remember a vet telling me that before, but I had totally forgotten until Joy and Melyssa left the comments on the above post.
Bought this today.
I oiled Raven.
Gee whizz…an authentic Gremlin!
I did the head, ears and the two front legs (bald patches).
A real “kucing minyak” now!
She’s still a bit w...

Kelly Tan and Jacinta Emmanuel come under our Food Fund. They both take care of a total of 118 dogs in Tanjong Rambutan and Ipoh.
Yesterday, Kelly (who only speaks Chinese and is not IT-literate) called to request help for an abandoned puppy (along with its sibling) who was left outside her door. This puppy’s hind legs are deformed in that the paws are “facing backwards”.
Kelly took the puppy to her regular vet in Ipoh and the vet estimates the surgery to correct this deformity...

Raven (the Black Kitty) Has Mange 10th Oct 2012, by AnimalCare
Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2012/10/09/where-do- all-these-cats-come-from/
So, this morning, I brought the black kitty to the vet’s.
But wait, before that…this is what happened last night….
After my husband wire-netted Bunny’s Clubhouse sidegate, we waited, but the black kitty did not come back. Because of her skin condition, I was worried for my own cats (I know skin problems spread VERY fast), so I had to ensure she wouldn’t get into Bunny’s Place again.

Animal Dumpings By S.I.C.K. People. 10th Oct 2012, by SPCA Sarawak
More S.I.C.K. dumpings. This time, thrown from a high level into the area behind the council cages. Obviously unwanted puppies by someone with an un-neutered pet and the mother was probably ill-treated too judging from the poor condition of the puppies. All female puppies so again, we have a case of an uneducated person who chose to remain uneducated about dogs thinking that only males should be kept.

The Dogs In Thailand Need Help (from Soi Dog) 10th Oct 2012, by AnimalCare
Here is an appeal from Soi Dog:
The Dogs Of Thailand Need
Your Help Today…
Many thanks to everyone who responded to our urgent appeal to continue helping the dogs intercepted by the Thai authorities en route to the dog meat restaurants and markets of Vietnam.
You may have seen that only last week a further 300 dogs were intercepted being transported in 4 pick up trucks, hidden in what are chicken crates, to try and disguise them from the authorities. Can you imagine 70 dogs stuffed i...

Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2012/10/09/medical-s ubsidy-for-emaciated-cat-brandon-lee-hor-qins/
I was very concerned about the emaciated condition of this cat whose treatment we subsidised. Brandon sent updates late last night:
Hi,
I have received the subsidy money. Thank you very much for your help.
The cat seems to be more energetic. The wound at the side of it’s mouth seems to be slowly closing and drying up.
Will update you on it’s status next week.
Thank you again.

It’s Tabs’ Battle Now… 9th Oct 2012, by AnimalCare
Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2012/10/09/where-do- all-these-cats-come-from/
Looks like size and age matter.
It’s Tabs’ battle this time…with the black kitten.
Tabs was growling at the sidegate…
Just as I feared, the black kitten had walked in (no need to squeeze) through the bars of the grille.
Tabs was on the aggressive, with tail all fluffed up, defending her position as the “baby” (youngest) of the clan.
Bunny was just behind Tabs, watching, not r...
