Scratching Posts And Mats For The Blueys! 13th Oct 2011, by AnimalCare
More Bluey tales for today....Bagheera is much better today (the aftermath of the vaccination) and has been playing with Baloo. I thought I should give them a scratching post or mat since they have been conveniently using my two legs as scratch posts...Hmm...now, what is this?Hey, it's nice to scratch, scratch, scratch...Hey Bagheera, come try this thingie...It's real fun!I had wanted this fish scratching pad to be a present for Indy, but he hasn't come home yet. Will go look for him...

Here We Go Again.... 13th Oct 2011, by AnimalCare
Just now, I received an SOS call from a lady. She said her neighbour had just found a few baby kittens and had handed them to her. She said she doesn't know what to do with them and her husband would not allow her to keep them at all.She wanted me to take them.I said I couldn't, but will source for fosterers if she sent me a photograph of the kittens and her contact details. She wasn't willing to send me a photograph or reveal her details. She just wanted me to take over the kittens. A...

Ref: http://www.myanimalcare.org/2011/10/resc ued-cat-from-walmart.htmlWow...I had no idea the above post could generate so many comments, but thanks, everyone, for sharing your thoughts on this. I noticed that only those who agree on moving your pets with you had posted comments. So, to be fair on both sides, allow me to moderate this issue now....In general, this is AnimalCare's stand on certain controversial issues, which remain controversial as there is no right/wrong in it, just w...

Why I Cannot Adopt The Blueys 13th Oct 2011, by AnimalCare
Thank you very much to everyone who has written to me asking me to adopt the Blueys. Many of you cited that I should do so for the sake of Bobby as the Blueys are very close to him and vice versa. I know this, as I'm right here watching them every day, but I cannot adopt the Blueys for many reasons, which I shall attempt to list down here:1. My house is not ideal for raising kittens. My six are free-roaming, a "mistake" made five years ago when I was none the smarter. We thought we wanted t...

The Blueys To The Vet's...for Vaccination 13th Oct 2011, by AnimalCare
A few adopters have expressed interest in adopting the Blueys. Thank you for writing in. We (Winnie, Punitha and I) are in the process of vetting all the applications, so your patience is most appreciated. I wanted to get the Blueys vaccinated before handing them over to their new forever family, so off we went to the vet's...The vet said Bagheera was "all muscle". Real solid stuff. Yes, with all the jungle gym activity in the room, she would be!However, Baloo took the injection very well, ...

Happiness Is A Ball! 13th Oct 2011, by AnimalCare
I went to the petstore yesterday to buy accessories and toys for the Blueys. I know collars are not advisable, but they have been giving me a headache every day because they'd be hiding somewhere in the living room and I cannot find them before I go to work! I got two detachable collars, but alas, they were too big. I also got them a ball...They sure had a ball!!

I missed that shot!I really must get a better camera-phone. Are we friends now? Can?Cleo is also very alpha and completely anti-social. Nope, Cleo isn't ready to be friends yet.So, we went out yesterday....to hunt for a better camera-phone. I really need that for all my AnimalCare work. And when we came back....Oh no...Tiger ...

Geng Gebu And The Cow Family! 12th Oct 2011, by AnimalCare
Nurul Hidayah came to our booth during the Cutie Pet Fair. She had come all the way to meet me and also brought Geng Gebu to show me. When she first volunteered to foster Geng Gebu (KTAJ's), they were not doing well. I remember the morning she called me saying one was having diarrhoea and another's eyes had turned upward and was not moving at all. I told her to quickly send them to the vet and get Pets Own Milk.Nurul did that. Pets Own Milk was out of stock, but she managed to get friends t...

Getting Indy To Return Home 11th Oct 2011, by AnimalCare
As you know, Indy ran away from home shortly after the Blueys came. "Ran away" = a few houses down the road.I have been going down the road, hunting him down, and bringing him back for food every day. Last night, I got really worried because he was not at his usual places (under the neighbour's car or on another neighbour's culvert). With the aid of the torchlight, we finally found him....5 houses down the road this time....in another neighbour's house. As we were trying to coax h...
