Photo Feature 14th Jul 2011, by The Great Animal Rescue Chase
We wanted to share this photo to demonstrate the power of our rescue squads worldwide through the lens of a single animal. Our partners at Colonel’s Angels Bulgarian Streetdogs rescued this dog from the street some time back. They found her a home and a family of her own Frankfurt, Germany. She now has her own human ‘brother’ who is 10 years old and they play together all the time. Her new family cannot believe that she was abandoned on the street as she is such a wonderful little dog. ...

This Goose Is Loose… 14th Jul 2011, by Dr Rayya's Online Veterinary Journal
After work and whenever I am on call, I absolutely dread being called out to a property when it is pitch dark and mostly if is freezing cold.
I got home one night and the afterhours phone rang a couple of hours later.
I held my breath, crossed my fingers and then took the call.
This poor owner had just gotten home to a very horrific sight. She kept saying: ‘My pet goose is badly injured and I don’t know long it has been like this’. I did not seem to grasp the word goose so I k...

Please Pray For The 2 Penang Dogs 14th Jul 2011, by AnimalCare
I have just received the sad news from my friend that the 2 Penang dogs will be euthanised tomorrow. Apparently, the decision is final. I hope this news is not true, or maybe there is chance of a reprieve, but whatever it is, we have to do the needful. In Loving Memory Of Dodo, Mayo Clinic's Beloved Resident Cat 14th Jul 2011, by AnimalCare
I went to Mayo Clinic today to settle our bills, and was told the sad news that Dodo, their clinic's resident cat, had just passed away. Alex, the vet's assistant, was so sad. So was the doctor. Apparently, Dodo only started showing signs of kidney problems yesterday, and Dr Khor had put him on drips. This morning Dodo did not want to be in the cage, and made a lot of noise, indicating he wanted to come out. So, Alex took out the drip and Rani let him out. Dodo he walked ...

Taking Karuna For A Walk 14th Jul 2011, by AnimalCare
I decided to take Karuna for a walk this morning, with the permission of the vets. The vet's assistant told me Karuna would get all excited, but only for two reasons - walk and food. Since she had already been fed, I decided I would take her for a walk. Okay, girl. Enough of showing that sad face. You're going for a walk. Here we go. She's so happy and she's not even limping. The wounds are healing very well. She has got these lumps all over her ...

A Thank You Just Received.... 14th Jul 2011, by SPCA Penang
Dear Sirs, I have wanted to congratulate the organisers, helpers and volunteers and officials of the recent SPCA run on 29.5.2011. Although I had just returned from an overseas trip and was exhausted, I made it a point that I would run this race because I believe in the cause and because I had made many of my friends join the race as well (and it was to encourage each other that we would run and finish the race)!! In particular I want to say kudos to the bicycling team who assisted in the roa...

Peggy Tiong looks after the stray cats in around her house. Some of the strays even bring their families to her house to seek shelter. Today, she brought two blue kittens for a check-up and vaccination. One of the kittens was having some limping problem yesterday. This is the limping one, but he seems better today. Still walks with a bit of a hunch, though. Being vaccinated. Peggy says she'd rather not look....They are brother and sister, and are up for ad...

If You Have A Problem With Cats.... 14th Jul 2011, by AnimalCare
Someone left a comment asking how to deal with a neighbour's cats who are causing a lot of trouble for her. She has spoken to the neighbour but to no avail. She doesn't want to report to the authorities knowing that the authorities would just capture and kill.I truly empathise with her. Here's a leaflet from the Cat Welfare Society, Singapore. They have given me permission to use it freely. On the left side is what to use if you DON'T like cats. On the right is how to attract cats int...

It has been more than about half a month since we first publicized this case, and we are grateful for the numerous friends and supporters who wrote in to offer assistance and advice. This story received some media coverage too, with The New Paper and U-Weekly both running an article on the Ng brothers and their cats, and The Online Citizen sharing it on their page. Noah’s Ark is grateful towards these few organizations in their bid to help spread the word. We visited the brothers about thr...

This puppy was saved just in time before he was slaughter by some Vietnamese workers. Rescuer, April reported that there were even ginger and herbs ready to prepare the dog meat pot. As April is already fostering more pets than she can handle, she hope that someone will be kind enough to adopt this puppy and give him a 2nd chance.
If you are interested to adopt this lil' pup, kindly contact April at 012-4708308.

Tango, Stray Puppy, Spayed 14th Jul 2011, by AnimalCare
Tango is one of the many stray dogs/puppies fed by Roselin at a construction site in Section 17, PJ. Roselin has gone through great lengths to rescue many of these dogs, and right now, she is still fostering Ms J, Molly and Tyra (it is so hard to find homes for adult street dogs). John Wayne is another foster of Roselin's and apparently, he bit Roselin sometime last week. It is no easy task for Roselin, managing dogs AND cats on a daily basis as sometimes fights would break out...
