This is a request from Amy (0126895377):

Hi Dr Chan,

Thank you for your assistance with the hospital contact.

I was having an early supper last nite with my bf and another friend at 8.30pm at Old Town Kopitiam Cyberjaya. It was raining and I heard a loud mewing sound from the carpark. I walked over and made some cat mewing sounds and along came the little kitten under a car. At first i did not notice that its legs were in a weird position until I picked him up to a slightly more lighted area to check on him. I thought his legs were broken. That is when I contacted u on how to get medical help.

I got the kitten to the hospital at about 11pm. Spoke with the vet who admitted the kitten. Turned out it's a male kitten just about 5-6 weeks old. He mentioned the legs were not broken and the kitten still can feel sensation on his back legs. He said he will do any X-ray to determine if the kitten had really any fractures or not.

These are the photos of the kitten that I found last nite. We are calling him Kopitiam at the moment.

As you can see, his back legs are kindof twisted in a funny position. When he walks, both his back legs are twisted like scissors and he is dragging both legs while walking.

Today I contacted the hospital and they told me that the kitten does not have any broken bones and fractures. Turned out that he has some nerve damage. Dr said they are treating him with steroids for inflammation. This treatment is for a few days. I will be visiting him tmrw morning.

Please do advise what would be the next best course of action. The kitten is very attentive and responsive to human contact. He like to talk a lot and fussy about everything.

I would also need to find someone to foster Kopitiam as I can't take him in coz I am staying with my Bf and his mom not a fan of cats.

Thank you again.

Regards,
Amy

If you are able to help Amy foster Kopitiam, please contact her directly at the hp given above and make the necessary arrangements.

We will subsidise the medical bill for Kopitiam from our funds.

Thank you.
