Our team got back home yesterday at 11.55pm, after the press conference and going to the police station in Damansara Damai to find out more updates from the police. The press conference was organised and headed by Kucing Terbiar & Anjing Jalanan, MDDB, Save a Stray, Animalcare. PAWS, Garden of Eden and volunteers who saved the cats initially. Apparently, another 100+ cats still can't be located, and all the owners, NGOs and sympathetic members of the public are pushing for the police to question the two owners of Petknode on the whereabouts of the cats so they can be saved before its too late. Everyone agreed the priority was in finding the missing cats. After the press conference we went to the Damansara Damai police station. PKR vice-president and ROAR President Suren appeared at the police Station and requested to see the OCPD but we met with Chief Inspector Effendi instead and he assured us the Police are still investigating the location of the 100+ missing cats. We were told that DVS had visited the premises and taken away the carcasses of 13 cats and kittens and some computers. To keep the pressure on the Police, all the NGOs will hand in a Memo to the IGP @ Bukit Aman today at 5pm signed by cat owners, NGOs and interested public who will be present. The Memo will urge the Police to hasten their investigation of the missing cats, charge the owners for theft and animal cruelty and work with the DVS to arrest and prosecute the culprits. This sad story has opened the cat loving community to animal abuse that the dog community has been facing for years and how ineffective the DVS and Police has been in bringing animal abusers to court. Meet us today at Bukit Aman at 5pm, you are welcome to come and support the handing over of the memorandum! xoxo, The SPCA Selangor Team
