This is one of the reasons we don't encourage anybody to keep turtles as pets, besides the very obvious reason that it is illegal to do so. Freshwater turtles, especially softshell turtles (like this one in the picture) grows up to more than a meter in length. And as such, they require much space and lots and lots of food and water. Today’s #TaxaTuesday, introducing the second Genus in Family Geoemydidae, Cyclemys (Leaf Turtles), which contain 7 species, C. atripons, C. dentata, C. enigmatica, C. fusca, C. gemeli, C. oldhamii & C. pulchristriata.
