Upon entering the room, I could see the children were sitting in neat rows listening to Fimie Don’s talk about the different types of turtles found in Malaysia and what we can do to help save them from becoming extinct. Shortly after, we all did the turtle version of the chicken dance. We have recently produced a few Terrapin Batik designs, and we are selling them to raise funds for our Society. The single-print batiks are priced at RM 30 each, and they come in three colours — navy blue, light blue and maroon. The multi-print batiks are priced at RM 35 each, and they come in various colour combinations.
Each batik measures 180 cm x 110 cm, and they can be used to adorn your wall or as a table cloth or TV cover or bed cover. Really, it’s up to you :D

BAGS containing turtle eggs, resembling oversized ping-pong balls, were displayed openly by hawkers at the Pasar Payang market, in Kuala Terengganu.
The ones caked with sand were local eggs, while the cleaner ones were apparently from Sabah, or so they say.

The terrapin nesting season in the Kemaman River this year began on the 7th February and ended on the 11th March 2013. Despite stretching for more than 30 days, nesting activities were significantly reduced (compared to last year) due to the tail-end of the monsoon experienced in the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia.
