THE SAD STORY OF "MORK"... Gill got a call this week from a European man to say that a dog outside the "Catch" restaurant in Surin Beach needed euthanizing! She asked him why & was told he had been attacked & that all down 1 side of the dog there were open wounds. Gill explained that we do not euthanise animals without a vet seeing them, trying to save them is our top priority. At the end of the day it would be our vets decision, if that decision needed to be made.

I attended Pastorale’s Charity Concert this evening. The principal, Ms Yim Soi Chee, had invited me and AnimalCare is also one of the recipients of their concert proceeds today.

MORK UPDATE... Here's Mork having treatment with our vets. He needs his mouth washed out which is not pleasant but he tries his hardest to be brave. Once we get the infection under control, he will feel much better & then we can get his teeth removed.

What Went Wrong With The 7 Puppies And Their Mother?

This is a most unfortunate case, relayed to me yesterday.
A lady who runs a shelter had applied to claim for the vaccination of 7 puppies (rescued with their mum) and we had approved it.
However, right after vaccination, 5 of the puppies came down with diarrhoea and vomiting (the typical symptoms of parvo virus).

Medical Subsidy For 8 Distemper Puppies (Sharon Elizabeth Tan Tai Ching’s)

The se would be the 14 puppies rescued by Sharon Tan. Apparently, they came down with distemper and 4 passed on. One was adopted by Joseph Iruthiam whose bill we have already reimbursed with a subsidy (see previous link).
There is another subsidy claim for the medication for the remaining 8 surviving puppies.

It’s a rather complicated story, so here goes, from Sharon:
Actually what happened as I told you, Joseph suspected he got conned by a vet as the pup wasnt healing. When I asked him to send again after 5 days he was hesistant think to get conned so I arranged for house call for him. I told him pay first and I will bank in to him as soon as vet leaves which I did.

Caring Dachshund Adopts Kittens

MOMMY DOG ADOPTS KITTEN! Duchess, a Dachshund doggy that has such strong motherly instincts, "adopted" a litter of orphaned kittens - for the 3rd time in a year!
Once the kittens were brought to her, Duchess immediately started licking them, and the next morning, she was producing milk for the babies! The kittens now think their mommy is a doggy.
What a truly heartwarming and inspiring case of sweet, unconditional love!

"Strange thing is these dogs were transported there from Thailand districts in cages on trucks, and nobody at check points or on the road or in the villages and towns spotted nothing? Fleezy is a very loving and loyal dog, food motivated and can learn commands. Fleezy is in Phuket.
This little guy needs extra love and patience. He has pain in his hips, so can be grouchy. No teeth, so needs his food moist with water. Fleezy is a male dog, vaccinated, and sterilized.

Packing tshirts, books and other freebies for the event.
Sorting out what sizes to bring, depending on the crowd.
Of course I’d always have reliable volunteers and advisers to help…so ever willingly.
All wheeled out and ready to go this morning.
We arrived early, as we always do, unless we are waylaid by landslides, earthquakes, tsunamis or unexpected roadblocks.
