Introducing A New Cat To The Resident Cat (from Ng Chen Chen)
2nd Apr 2012, by AnimalCare

Useful information from Ng Chen Chen: I stumbled upon a YouTube video that tells the story of how a new kitten and an older cat who is already established in a household learn to become fast friends. I think this video would be able to teach us a lot about cats communication. Many adopters are hesitant or return a cat when their cat react violently towards the newcomer because humans don’t understand cat behaviour. Well, this video does a good job in showing that cats need some time to kn...

Tips On Looking After Rescued Birds (from Joey Quah)
2nd Apr 2012, by AnimalCare

Useful tips from Joey Quah (joeyquah@gmail.com) below. She has also offered her help should anyone encounter rescued birds. If anyone do find a baby bird, dont be afraid to keep it warm. Use as small a container as possible. For quick emergency container, use a 1.5l mineral bottle. Cut the bottle about 3″ from the bottom. Line the bottom with lots of tissue paper or cotton hanky/towel. Cut off the top part of the mineral bottle (3″) and use it as a cover. Poke a few small holes to ac...

From Terry (terencesaw@gmail.com): This is Tinsel. He’s about 3 years old, male orange cat with a slight crook in his tail. He’s neutered but may need to go for vaccination. Tinsel’s story is unique. He first came to me after a rescuer picked him off the streets and asked me to foster him. During this time, he made friends with my dog. A couple first adopted him, but after a week they returned him because the wife was allergic to cats. A couple eventually adopted him and he gre...
