Daisy Is Doing Better This Morning (from The Fosterer) 13th Feb 2012, by AnimalCare
Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2012/02/12/little-daisy-ne eds-our-prayers/
Thank you, everyone, for your prayers. Daisy is doing better this morning (aren’t we all so relieved!) and the fosterer is bringing all three of them to our vet today for a second opinion.
From the fosterer:
Daisy is a bit better than last night. She drank a bit of milk this morning. She started meow, compared to last night being motionless. I made Rice Socks for her to put inside her sleeping pot. I have this huge me...

Dog In Critical Condition Passes Away (Shirley’s) 13th Feb 2012, by AnimalCare
Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2012/02/12/urgent-dog-bloo d-donor-required-shirley-wongs/
The vet just informed me that the dog passed away last night, one hour after the blood results came back. His blood count was 9.1. A normal reading is 44, and any reading below 12 cannot sustain life anymore. The vet said the dog could not have possibly got into this condition overnight. It must have been a gradual deterioration.
The rescuer, Shirley, called me last Saturday (4th Feb) to seek assistance and I...

Roger's was found and cared for by France and his girlfriend while visiting from Australia.
She has probably been owned by a foreigner before & dumped when they left. She obviously can't fend for herself so will be staying at the shelter.
Yet another example of the importance of Soi Dog's sponsorship program. If you are in a position to spare 80 cents a day please consider sponsoring Rogers or one of the many other dogs which we care for... http://www.soidog.org/en/sponsor-a-dog-or-cat/

Little Daisy Needs Our Prayers 12th Feb 2012, by AnimalCare
The 3 musketeers’ fosterer just texted to say Daisy hasn’t been doing well since this afternoon. She has stopped drinking milk and has quickly gone back to her skinny look. It all happened too quickly. Far too soon. There is still a lot of worms in her poo as well. The fosterer has been giving glucose syrup every 2 hours. She says she doesn’t know what else to do.
Here’s what I can share:
1. Hold Daisy close to her heart and keep her warm. Our heartbeat represents our lov...

Adoption Time In Avsallar/TURKEY 12th Feb 2012, by The Great Animal Rescue Chase
Please consider adopting one of these cats. The mayor in this seaside Turkish community is actively poisoning the cats daily. We're trying to find homes for them internationally. Overseas adoption to the US and parts of Europe is far easier and more affordable than you might expect. Have a look at the photos of these beautiful, trusting cats in need.

Dog, In Critical Condition (Shirley’s) 12th Feb 2012, by AnimalCare
A lady called Shirley called me last week, asking if we could help subsidise the treatment of a rescued dog. I offered our usual subsidy and advised her to take the dog to the vet’s as soon as possible.
Subsequently, there was no photo and no news, so I thought the dog did not need any treatment, or Shirley did not need any subsidy.
Yesterday, Shirley called again saying the dog was in bad shape. It was shivering and could not be approached anymore. Shirley said she could not get the dog i...

Updates On 12th Feb 2012 12th Feb 2012, by Soi Dog Foundation
STOP PRESS.
June is doing great. She is playing with Rusty, who is smaller than her and still getting used to Dino, who is bigger than her and plays kind of hard.
Here are a couple of photos of her from my laptop in the motel room.
I got a couple of great videos so far of her playing with a rawhide bone. She was chewing on it for quite some time.
She was great in her crate and did not soil it at all. For some reason the water bottle broke off of the crate, so she did not have water by the tim...

Subsidy For Flower And Coco, Survivors Of Feline Panleukopenia (Anita Chen’s) 12th Feb 2012, by AnimalCare
Flower and Coco are two rescued cats of Anita Chen’s. Both came down with feline panleukopenia, a frightening disease, also known more commonly as feline distemper which is caused by the feline parvovirus. Interestingly, the feline parvovirus was discovered first, and is thought to have mutated to become the canine parvovirus which affects dogs.
