SHIVER IS AVAILABLE TO BE SPONSORED!
It's about time our famous boy had some sponsors of his own. Shiver was found at the side of a road at the brink of death. He had horrific skin infections, malnutrition & pneumonia. We did not think Shiver would survive. After several months of intensive care & treatment Shiver's condition gradually improved. His story was shared worldwide & he helped create awareness of Soi Dog internationally.

It may be Chinese New Year and many superstitious Chinese would go “choi! choi! choi!” at the mention of death, but not for us, because the New Year is just like any other day for us – Life goes on, and life and death waits for no one. If one’s time is up, one goes.
Hooi Bin wrote to me on Christmas Eve 2011. She had just rescued Ah Wong, a stray cat, off the streets two weeks back. Ah Wong looked like he had mange, but it turned out to be more serious than that.

Sponsor-A-Pet-Programme At PAWS

I was sourcing a place for the dog that Mahesan wanted to rescue when PAWS’ manager told me about their Sponsor-a-Pet-Programme.
I think it is a really wonderful programme, especially for rescuers who have nowhere else to place their rescues. They can surrender the animal to PAWS and sponsor the animal for the rest of its life, subject to PAWS’ Sponsor-a-Pet-Programme policies.

FAITH NEEDS A FLIGHT TO GERMANY!... Dear little Faith was rescued from being skinned alive. She's been at the shelter for over a year now & we finally found her a wonderful new home in Germany. We need to find someone travelling from Phuket to Germany who'd be prepared to take Faith with them as "accompanied baggage". THE LOVELY LUNA... This dear little girl was rescued from "Dog Island" during the Bangkok Floods. She has limited sight, but is a sweet dog & loves people. She's currently living in our Old Age Dog Run, as with her sight problems we feel she'd be more comfortable with the slower, elderly residents. So far she's doing fine & really loves it when people come & visit her.

DINNER TIME WITH PIMGHON!... Dear little Pimghon has a wonderful appetite. He's hand fed every day by our staff around 4pm. Most of our dogs get dry food, but Pimghon receives tinned food & dry food mixed together for easier swallowing. Watch as he enjoy's his meal, despite his difficulties.

Sunsuper Dreams Updates!! (Kenyan Dream Is Down To 9th Place)

Dear Friends,
It is now 3.30pm. I’m not at home, but my friends have just alerted me that the Kenyan Dream has had its votes reduced to 208 (and now, it has risen to 218 in barely ten minutes). It has also dropped from 2nd place to 9th position.

SAMMY'S NEEDS A REAL HOME... Little 4 month old Sammy has grown up in our Cat Hospital. He's never known any other life. He spent his first 2 months confined as he was suffering from cat flu, but has recently moved to our Cat Suite, where he's now able to play with his friends Mel & Rollar.

JIP WANTS TO GO HOME... Poor Jip... she's recently been returned to the shelter. She was adopted in March 2011 to an Australian couple who'd made their home in Phuket. Jip spent 8 months with them before being returned in November. Due to unforseen circumstances her family had to return to Australa & due to the strict quarantine laws in Australia, sadly this prevented them taking Jip with them. GASP! - UNCLE SHIVER & HIS PUPPIES!...Here's what we've all been waiting for, a new Shiver video!!! Shiver loves to lay under his sala & the small puppies often lay around him. He's a big boy now & the puppies feel safe in his presence. Shiver is still terribly shy with humans & very nervous. He is however learning to play with the other dogs & he's recently made friends with Peach, Ketchup & Khang. It's wonderful to see him looking so well!!... Meg used to live at Rawai Temple, but suffers from chronic skin problems & an Oral hematoma to her left ear. She was brought to Soi Dog in June 2011 & now lives permanently at the shelter as she can no longer take care of herself.
