Sakon Nakhon Provincial Court yesterday sentenced a man to four months in jail and a Bt35,000 fine for capturing and detaining dogs for sale.

Tales We’d Like To Hear – CNRM-Ers Going Strong

Many months ago, XY Soo wrote to me about wanting to do something for the street animals. We got talking and of course, I shared with him about CNRM and how I went about starting AnimalCare. I offered XY Soo our medical sponsorship/subsidy should he wish to start doing CNRM at his place, but at the same time, I also encouraged him to just use our model and start his own small group (just like us).

This is a typical scene you’d see after dinner every night…leading the way to the Stargate would be Cleo, followed by Bunny and Cow.
Pole had been REALLY well-behaved all afternoon. I let her out after I came back from work until dinnertime. She made no attempts to escape. Not even once. I managed to get a urine sample from Sunshine last Wed and quickly rushed it to the clinic as I’ve been concerned over her peeing pattern. They found that her pee was very alkaline with PH 9 and Specific Gravity 1.018 and suggested that I bring her in for a blood test. There has been a lot of discussion out there about people planning to get a Chinchilla ( aka Dragon Cat in the Chinese Language) as a pet to usher in the new year. Please think again. These gentle and fragile creatures require specialist care and can live till about 15 years of age, long after the lunar year is over. Please do not get one unless you are prepared to care for it for the rest of its life.

MAE MA - SHE'S AS CUTE AS A BUTTON!...
This sweet girl is approx 4 years old & has been at the shelter since 2009. Mae Ma is a very social dog & adores everyone.. She's a very quiet, relaxed dog who can often be seen nodding off! She loves it when volunteers come to visit as she is always desperate for cuddles. Mae Ma has a lovely short gold/white coat & very cute "one up/one down" ears! Last week we found this mother dog "Maya" & her eight 3 week old puppies in a rubbish dump within a small village. Maya's a wonderful mum & is still feeding her pups well & so far all are still healthy.
