Indy’s Condition – A Repeat, Again

I got back from work today and rushed Indy and Tabs to the vet’s.
Indy has been sleeping for the past few days, hardly moving. The only consolation is that he still eats heartily, but only when I bring food for him. Yesterday, I brought him out to the grass and noticed he was limping again. For me, the symptoms and the expression on his face is EXACTLY the same as his previous mysterious condition which landed him (and me!) in hospital. Mother-Cat And Kitten In Need Of Fosterer/adopter (Thong’s)

Cathy Thong’s brother found a mother-cat with a newborn kitten yesterday. The mother-and-baby need a fosterer urgently. It would not be very difficult looking after them as the mother is feeding the baby. The fosterer/adopter would only need to buy KITTEN food for the mother (kitten food is more nutritious) so that she has enough milk for the baby and enough nutrition for herself. Dear Emmaline...
Emmaline is one of the over 300 dogs living at Soi Dog's shelter. Emmaline began her life in a dump.
She was found alone and scavenging for food by Soi Dog's rescue team. Emmaline is not an "alpha" dog by any stretch and clearly would not have been able to survive much longer on the streets.

OSCAR'S AMAZING JOURNEY!...
Soi Dog supporter "Pia" recently adopted one of the rescued "Dog Meat Trade" dogs from Nakhon Phanom. Originally called "Panda" , this sweet little dog captured Pia's hearts in photos & she was determined to give him a new life. She already adopted "Mitzi" from Soi Dog a few years ago, so Oscar would make the family complete. Oscar arrived in Germany on December 8th & here's Pia's account of his life so far...

Pole Is Happy In Condo And Other News

This morning, when I opened the backdoor, Pole was looking quite happy in her condo. I had prepared myself for the worst, ie. she had figured out a way to open the latch and has escaped again! But no, my preparation for the worst possible scenario was unfounded…phew!
She actually looked pretty happy in it.

Caramel’s Swanky “hand-Me-Down” Collar

Bought this really pretty rugged collar for Flower as we thought it would look splendid on her and it did! Unfortunately the collar was a little too loose for Flower’s slender neck. ps: Love the collar? It’s RM20 each. Buy A Recycle Bag And Help Feed The Furry Frens

Handsome Jackson was crowned our unofficial furry model for the day as we took full advantage of the lovely surrounding to take picture of the recycle bags to sell. Because of Jackson’s shiny black fur, all the colors match well with him :D Each recycle bag is RM10 and all proceeds will be used for running of the shelter. Two Proud Owners, Pole And Tabs

Today, Pole is the proud owner of a new condominium.
House-warming the ground floor first.
Third floor.
I’ve given Pole Tabs’ litter-box as it is smaller than the rest of my litter-boxes and it fits right in.
Pole also has a brand new matching green water bowl fixed to the bars so that it won’t topple over.
The 2nd floor is nice too.
Pole has tried all the levels and she seems happy with it.

Help Us Name These Puppies!

Another 6 new pups were found at Old Klang road and were brought to our shelter by Shelly, Rena's friend. The 6 pups were all female, 2 months old, all has skin problem. Have brought them to Dr Tan's clinic for their first vaccination and mange jab. So far, the puppies have been named A, B, C, D, E and F. Can someone help name them? We are running out of ideas!

Ah Wong has long been cured of her TVT. This is Mrs Lai's report on our beloved Ah Wong."She looked very happy and when she saw people, she barked as laud as other dogs. I opened the door of the cage and she eagerly moved her body forward wanted to come out of the cage. I was busy tending to other dogs and when I looked at her again, half of her body hanged out. Wow! So much goodies for the furkids at the shelter!Dear Nicol and her boyfriend have donated generously to our dogs. There were 40 bags of 15 kg dog kibbles (sent by a lorry straight from the factory), 30 bottles of Chorox (she went to clean sweep all Chorox available from Tesco, she said) , one big box of canned food (30-40 cans). Dearest Subu Has Passed On

Subu, the gentle giant mastiff has left us on Sunday, 8th January 2012. She suffered from compications from her pregnancy. She was too old and could not sustain the pregnancy. The foetus died inside and resulted in toxic in her blood system. The vet has given her blood transfusion because of low platelet count , a surgery was performed to remove dead foetus but she could not make it and died the next day.Subu was not spayed as she was already old and would not be able to stand the anesthesia...

I’m almost going to freak out already, worrying if Pole made another escape attempt from the cage, but phew! She did not not.
While teaching, I did worry. What if something unexpected happened? Like maybe, someone left the sidegate open, and Cow leads everyone out, and they were now marching down the road, in single file, all seven of them, trying to find the way back to the old neighbourhood. Roger's was found and cared for by France and his girlfriend while visiting from Australia. She has probably been owned by a foreigner before & dumped when they left.
She obviously can't fend for herself so will be staying at the shelter. Yet another example of the importance of Soi Dog's sponsorship program.
