Zurik’s Evening 20th Apr 2019, by AnimalCare
It was time for Zurik’s third does of RetroMAD1 just now. His treatment dosage is three times a day.
But he was sleeping soundly and I didn’t want to disturb him. So I just sat in the chair next to him to wait for him to get up. He did.
Then came the unpleasant task of having to feed him the meds by syringe. And some AD as it’s better if taken with food. This round, I choose another syringe and I must say I managed to do it much better. I poked the syringe deeper in, almost ne...

Is There An FIP Cure On The Horizon? 20th Apr 2019, by AnimalCare
The article: https://www.petmd.com/news/health-sc ience/experimental-fip-treatments-show-promise-aff ected-cats-34629
We don’t have PI in Malaysia.
Polyprenyl Immunostimulant (PI) is an investigational biologic used to lessen clinical signs associated with herpes virus infections in cats by promoting immune responses to the virus. PI also has been used to treat FIP. In a small study, three cats with the dry form of FIP were treated with PI. Two cats were alive and still receiving trea...

The Bench “problem” And “stink” Stories 20th Apr 2019, by AnimalCare
It’s always been a problem…for more than seven years already.
Ever since we bought it.
We bought this beautiful teak bench for the cats when we first moved in. But soon enough, it became a target of spraying by the alpha-amigos, Cow, Bunny and Indy.
You can imagine how difficult it was to wipe the bench with urine seeping into the gaps and over time, surely the acidity of the urine would spoil the wood too.
So I covered it with bedsheets and have been doing this for seven years now...

The Other “patients” And The Other Stories 20th Apr 2019, by AnimalCare
https://myanimalcare.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/0 4/1-video.mp4
This is Ginger’s daily routine – the whining.
And the dim sum.
I did ask the vet intern yesterday why Ginger is obese thought he eats “little”. We finally concluded that maybe it is because Ginger is not active. He doesn’t run around much unless he escapes, then he will chase the outside cats and will be really fast (Usain Bolt might not even be able to do Ginger’s short sprints).
On another not...

Managing Mr Zurik And An Informative FAQ On FIP 20th Apr 2019, by AnimalCare
I thought I’d write a separate post on Zurik here, in case anyone is following his story.
Zurik ate three breakfasts this morning but they were all small meals. It looks like he likes Ginger’s idea of “dim sum”! Well, anything for Zurik, especially when he is able to eat.
Zurik doesn’t mind tablets (wrapped in bread), but it looks like he HATES liquids being syringed into his mouth. I cannot risk putting the liquid into his food because the mere smell of it might m...

All 17 DOGS RESCUED IN ROMANIA
For those of you who have helped us in the rescue of dogs from the Targu Neamt pound in Romania, we just want to let you know all the dogs are out. They are emotionally harmed and one has a broken leg because of the abuse, but we will do everything we can to help them heal.
Photos coming over the weekend. Please give us just a little time as it is very busy at the moment. Thank you all for making this rescue mission come to fruition.
