Firefighter Adopts Puppy After Rescuing Him A puppy rescued from a fire has new life after a firefighter decided to adopt the injured dog. Maj. Kyle Durham knows firsthand how much damage fire can cause. The veteran firefighter had no idea what was in store for his family’s future when he responded to a shed fire: a litter of week-old puppies trapped inside. “We started hearing a little bit of whimpering coming from there so we dug them out.” Durham said.
