Updates On 19th Jan 2015 19th Jan 2015, by SPCA Singapore
Here at the SPCA, we don’t just match new owners with their newfound forever furkids, we also reunite owners with the furkids they’ve lost.
It has been a sweet reunion for Mdm Yap’s family and their 11-year-wise Schnauzer, SHAN SHAN, as well as for Sobana Rachael’s family and their 4-year-wise Shih-Tsu TEDDY. Both canines and their respective human companions were elated at seeing each other again, after having been separated.
Should you know of anyone who has lost their pet animal, p...

SSPCA'S RAINY DAY TIPS FOR PET OWNERS
1. STAY DRY-Wet or damp fur is an ideal incubation area for fungi and bacteria. Towel dry or blow dry your pet's fur and paws everytime they come in from the rain.
2. FUN INDOORS- It is hard to take pets for a walk everyday during rainy season so making your dogs climb up the stairs and leaving it freely in your closed indoor garden/ car porch will keep the dogs active.Toys provide countless hours of fun and at the same time encourage your pets to get mo...

Oh No, Cow’s Collar Came Off!! 19th Jan 2015, by AnimalCare
Yesterday, we went out for about 2 hours and when we came home, I saw Cow sitting happily against the grille…with his e-collar off!!
Oh my gosh!!!
No time to waste!
I got inside the room, found the e-collar on the floor beside the back grille, put it on Cow and checked his eye. I know the vet told me that if I can still see the third eyelid (a flap) through the corner of his stitched up eye, that means the stitches are intact, but if I can see his eyeball, it means the stitches have come o...

PREGNANT WOMAN SAVES KITTEN FROM STORM DRAIN 18th Jan 2015, by The Great Animal Rescue Chase
Alica Curtovic was out for an evening walk with her dog when she heard a sound that set fire to every nerve ending in her body. This was the panicked distress call of a kitten. Looking around, Alica could see other cats in the area, all apparently tuned in to the crisis but helpless to do anything about it. Alica, who is expecting a baby, carefully got down on her knees and shined a light into a nearby sewer. Sure enough, there at the bottom, was a screeching, black ball of fur.
Alica and her ...

Updates On 18th Jan 2015 18th Jan 2015, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)
Today on our #ACRESthanksyou Sunday, we thank the people that you least expected... Our Ministry of the Environment & Water Resources, together with PUB and NEA! They have now included in their 'Best practices for events' article to 'avoid controversial dishes featuring endangered animals'! It is definitely a huge leap for Singapore and for all animals, and a sign we are slowly but surely accepting that animals should be given a voice too. So.. THANK YOU for remembering our friends!
Do take a l...

Volunteers/Adopters Needed - As Always 18th Jan 2015, by Noah's Ark CARES
Puppies - we always have puppies up for adoption as well as adult dogs. But
they are - unlike those at pet shops/breeders that people will pay a few
hundreds or thousands for each - not of any pedigree breed. They are mainly mongrels. We are often asked,
where do all these so-called stray puppies come from? From the unsterilized street dogs we have not been able to catch – they who avoid us like
plague, who will only come out to grab the packet of food and run for their
lives the minu...

Panda Can't Walk - But She Sure Can Run! 18th Jan 2015, by The Great Animal Rescue Chase
Little Panda was injured in Romania two months ago. She was most likely hit by a car and was lying on the ground for days before rescuer Norica Prigoana was alerted to her suffering. Locals were afraid to touch this little paralyzed puppy, so they simply left her there. Panda's new life in the UK bears no resemblance to her former life. Today, she is a blissful puppy - full of energy.
"My vet has checked her over and she has some good reflexes," reports Panda's wonderful foster mom Debbie Evans...

We’re Back On Track With Our Neutering Subsidies! 18th Jan 2015, by AnimalCare
In the past few weeks, for every subsidy paid to regular applicants, I had written a personal request to them to please give me a few weeks’ break to recuperate before they send it their next applications. I thank you very much for your kind consideration.
The initial (bad) news that we are closing down has spread like wildfire and it’s time to put it right.
AnimalCare is NOT closing.
And we are now happy to announce that our neutering subsidies are available again to all applicants...

DOG FALLS THROUGH ICE AND HIS BUDDY BARKS FOR HELP
Two dogs survived a very dangerous close-call in icy water. When one Labrador fell through the ice, his friend was determined to summon help. And he did! Although this initial news story didn't include this detail, and update shows that both dogs are from the same household and now back home together, safe & sound!
