Our Savannah Monitor Lizard's New Enclosure 20th Jan 2015, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)
In April 2014, we shared a video which showed Adisa, our savannah monitor lizard's enclosure. However, we felt that her cage enclosure's vertical space did not suit it as Savannah monitor lizards are known to be primarily ground dwelling animals. We have currently changed her enclosure which has more horizontal space as opposed to vertical. Now she has more space to stretch out and walk around then before. The old video can be viewed at:

RESCUING THE NEIGHBOR'S FREEZING PUPPY
HIS EYES WERE SCREAMING "HELP ME!"
Written by Gail Long of Colorado
____________________________
We had the greatest neighbors, but then they moved. Then in moved this family who had a couple of dogs.
“Okay,” I thought, “Animal people, this is good.”
Trust me when I tell you, it wasn’t good. It became a mission for my family to ensure their dogs were fed and had access to water. The owner of the home got a brother and sister “Bugg” (Boston...

Deeply Touched And Blessed By Angels Without Wings 20th Jan 2015, by AnimalCare
Today I am deeply touched by the kind gestures of AnimalCare’s good friends.
You’d remember that 15 blankets were given away last month to those who have helped us in kind, silently and anonymously through the years.
11 of those blankets are now coming back to AnimalCare to be auctioned for fundraising!
I was so surprised!
The friends who have taken these blankets were merely keeping them safe to give me time to recover and reconsider my decision. They just took them off me to light...

Wally is currently undergoing training with Carlos at G-Pets in Shah Alam. He has been there for 12 days and has shown great improvement in behavior. He now knows how to sit, stay and walk calmly on a leash. Carlos is a specialist in training guard dogs and has told us that Wally is a loyal dog, just insecure! Once he knows he can trust you though, he'll be an extremely faithful and well-behaved companion.
Wally needs a loving home with people who are patient enough to guide him. He needs a st...

For Adoption - Howie! 20th Jan 2015, by SPCA Selangor
Howie has lived most of his life on the street. Sleeping on the sidewalk, waiting for a treat as people walk by. That is how he has spent the past 5 years of his life. He lived on the sidewalk to separate himself from the pack since 1 of the other dogs in pack was biting him so badly.
Despite all odds, Howie is a very healthy 5 year old that is heartworm free and is very clean. He loves humans and is a loyal dog. So loyal one night he followed my car most of the way home, running behind in the ...

Sterilisation is key!
The SPCA takes in close to 400 unwanted and abandoned animals every month and there are even more animals looking for homes. Pet owners can help reduce this problem by sterilising their pets, and by being responsible owners in ensuring that they can provide a forever home for the animal.
Sterilisation is an operation that removes reproductive organs to prevent the animal from creating more offspring. The procedure is performed under general anaesthetic, so the animal feel...

Last week the ACRES Macaque Team attended to a case which ended with a miraculous twist!
They were alerted of a dehydrated lone young macaque with an open wound on its back and chest region in Bishan park by a post in the Nature Society Singapore facebook page.
The wound needed urgent medical help to prevent the spread of infection as the lone macaque did not have a troop to assist. With the help from the public who contacted the ACRES 24-Hour Wildlife Rescue hotline, the team managed to trek...
