The Cone of Shame The Elizabethan collar. It's that thing we put on our beloved pets to keep them from licking a wound or skin problem, and for which they HATE us. So what do we do? We decorate the cones, trying to cheer our cats and dogs up, encouraging them to make the best of it. The result? We are amused, and they still hate us. Oh, well... at least we're amused! And they can heal. Source: http://bit.ly/1BURkw9

Pampering Cow Mau (Day 9)
14th Jan 2015, by AnimalCare

Cow finished his oral medicines yesterday and now, it’s just nutritious food and the daily eyedrops. We continue to give him massages as often as he wants, doing our best to make him as comfortable as we can. It didn’t take us long to understand exactly where Cow Mau wants to be massaged – he’d lick the collar in that direction, so we massage in that general area of his body. He seems satisfied and happy. It’s the least we can do for him… We that pray undern...

Refurbishing The Cats’ Chairs
14th Jan 2015, by AnimalCare

Our cats aren’t that heavy, but look at what’s happened to the Clubhouse chairs… Both chairs suffered the same fate. And both are Tiger’s and Cow’s favourite chairs. So, my husband decided to refurbish the chairs… First, cut away all the loose strands. Cut their favourite “springy netting” to the correct size for the seat. Tie the netting neatly down with cable ties. And tadah, we have a new seat! He repaired both chairs and left it out for ...

Pet owners, please microchip your pet and register that microchip (if you haven’t)! A microchip is a tiny device about the size of a rice grain and it is usually implanted between the shoulder blades of your pet. It carries a unique identification number so that your animal can be traced back to you if it has lost its way. However, you must ensure that the microchip is registered otherwise it would be rendered useless. So why should you microchip your pet? Animals disappear for many reasons...

Dog Rides Bus To Park
14th Jan 2015, by PetFinder.my

Out of the millions of people who use public transit every day, one bus rider in Washington state is perhaps the most unusual. That is because she is a dog. Eclipse is a black Lab-bull mastiff mix who taught herself how to ride the bus to a dog park in Seattle. She actually belongs to a man named Jeff Young, who says he tends to take smoke breaks before taking Eclipse to the park. However, if the bus gets there before he finishes, Eclipse will leave without him. A spokesman for Metro Tran...

Snake Shed
14th Jan 2015, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)

Over the last few weeks, we have been bringing some of our snakes to our outdoor tanks. These acrylic tanks are big and provide our snakes with a more spacious environment to live in. The outdoor tanks in the Snake shed also lets us educate visitors about the illegal wildlife trade and how snakes fall victim to the cruel trade. The big tanks also give us more options in terms of the substrate we provide. However, these tanks are space consuming and we do not have enough space to accommodate all...
